Venom 2 Why Is Venom Scared Of Carnage

Venom 2 Why Is Venom Scared Of Carnage

Okay, let's talk Venom 2. Specifically, why Venom, a big, scary alien symbiote, was seemingly terrified of Carnage. I have thoughts. Maybe some unpopular ones.

Symbiote Scaredy-Cat?

Seriously, did anyone else think Venom acted a little…cowardly? He’s usually all bravado and biting heads off (metaphorically, mostly). Suddenly, he's a quivering blob of goo.

We're told Carnage is stronger, fiercer. But come on! This is Venom we’re talking about. He's battled tougher opponents. Or has he?

Is it Really Just Power?

Everyone says Carnage's just more powerful. Okay, fine. But power isn't everything, is it?

Think about it. Venom likes rules, sort of. He has Eddie, a connection. Carnage? Pure, unadulterated chaos.

Maybe it's not about raw strength. Maybe it's about the crazy. And Carnage is definitely bringing the crazy.

My (Maybe Unpopular) Opinion

Here's where I get a little controversial. I think Venom's fear wasn't just about Carnage's power. It was about something else.

I believe Venom was scared because Carnage represented something Venom was trying to suppress. That inner monster, the complete lack of control.

Think about Venom's relationship with Eddie. It's all about control and balance. Carnage? He's just letting it all hang out.

It's like looking in a mirror and seeing the worst version of yourself. A version you’re desperately trying not to be. That's scary, right?

Imagine you're trying to be a good person. Then you meet someone who embraces all their bad impulses. Wouldn't that be a little unsettling?

Venom might be afraid of Carnage's power, sure. But I think he's more afraid of what Carnage represents: Unbridled rage, complete lack of empathy, the dark side of being a symbiote.

The Eddie Factor

Let's not forget Eddie. Venom cares (in his own weird way) about Eddie. Carnage? He just sees Cletus Kasady as a host, a tool.

Venom knows Eddie would be horrified if he just went full-Carnage. Maybe that fear of disappointing Eddie is a factor too.

Maybe Venom's fear is partially Eddie's fear projected onto him. A symbiotic anxiety, if you will.

Conclusion: More Than Just Muscle

So, is Carnage stronger? Probably. But is that the only reason Venom was scared? I don't think so.

I believe Venom's fear was a mix of things: Carnage's raw power, his complete lack of morals, and the unsettling realization that he could become just like him.

Maybe I'm overthinking it. Maybe Venom's just a big softie deep down. But that’s my (possibly unpopular) take on it.

What do you think? Was Venom just outmatched, or was there something more to his fear?
