Twittering Birds Never Fly The Clouds Gather Movie

Okay, let's talk about it. You know, that movie. The one everyone seems to adore.
I'm talking about Twittering Birds Never Fly The Clouds Gather. Yes, that one.
Is it just me...?
Is it just me, or is it... overrated? I know, I know, huge fandom. But hear me out.
Must Read
The animation is gorgeous, absolutely. No arguments there.
But the plot? Sometimes it feels like watching paint dry, albeit beautifully animated paint.
Love the Characters, But...
Yashiro is undeniably charismatic. And Doumeki? Stoic perfection.
But their relationship? So much angst! Give them a break, seriously.
It feels like they're constantly circling each other. Like awkward pigeons. Twittering pigeons, perhaps?

"But the emotional depth!" cries the internet.
I get it. Supposedly deep stuff. But I needed a flowchart to follow it all.
So much unspoken tension. So many meaningful glances.
I spent half the movie wondering what everyone was actually thinking.
The Pacing Problem
The pacing felt… glacial. Like watching a glacier slowly, very slowly, melt.
Beautiful to look at, sure. But also kinda boring after a while.

I found myself checking my phone. (Don't tell anyone!).
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Prepare yourselves. This is a hot take. I think the manga is better.
Gasp! I know! Blasphemy!
But the manga has more space to breathe. More character development. Less glacial pacing.
The Visuals Are Stunning, Though
Okay, I'll admit it. The visuals are breathtaking. Studio GRISEPANK did an amazing job.

The rain scenes? The fight choreography? Chef's kiss.
It's eye candy. Pure, unadulterated eye candy.
Maybe I'm Just Missing Something
Look, maybe I'm just dense. Perhaps the subtle nuances are lost on me.
Maybe I need to rewatch it. (Probably not, though).
Maybe I just prefer explosions and car chases. Judge me.

Don't Get Me Wrong...
I didn't hate it. I just didn't love it as much as everyone else seems to.
It's a pretty good movie. Just… not a masterpiece, in my humble opinion.
And that's okay, right? We can all have different opinions.
So, There You Have It
My slightly controversial, probably unpopular, thoughts on Twittering Birds Never Fly The Clouds Gather.
Feel free to disagree with me. I can handle it.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch something with more explosions.
