Triangle Strategy How To Get Maxwell

Triangle Strategy How To Get Maxwell

Alright, gather 'round, friends! Let me tell you about my harrowing (and slightly embarrassing) quest to recruit Maxwell in Triangle Strategy. He's the sprightly old geezer with the ludicrously long spear. Trust me, he's worth the effort, but getting him feels like navigating a maze designed by a caffeine-addled squirrel. Prepare for a story filled with tactical blunders, unexpected character development, and me yelling at my Switch screen. You have been warned.

Maxwell: The Ageless Wonder (and How to Woo Him)

First, let's establish something: Maxwell is, shall we say, particular. He's not the type to be swayed by a fancy dinner (though maybe a prune juice tasting would work?). No, no, to get Maxwell, you need to show him you're a true champion of justice and a master of strategic thinking. Basically, you need to convince him you're not a total doofus.

The pivotal moment arrives in Chapter 15: A Land of Snow and Ash. This chapter's a doozy. You’re smack dab in the middle of a war between Aesfrost and Hyzante. Good times. However, you need to make sure you're on the right path to recruit Maxwell, and that means making some difficult decisions earlier in the game. In Triangle Strategy your decisions matter, like, a lot.

The Key Decision: You HAVE to follow Frederica to the Wallfort Demesnes in Chapter 9. Seriously, don't even think about going with Roland. This is non-negotiable. Picture it like this: Roland's path leads to a slightly dusty antique shop, while Frederica's path leads to a hidden treasure chest overflowing with Maxwell-shaped goodies.

Why Frederica, you ask? Well, this path sets up a series of events and convictions that will ultimately impress the old man. He's watching you, always watching... from the shadows... probably with a cup of tea and a critical eye. This particular path will give you the correct flags to talk to Maxwell later on!

The Battle for Maxwell's Respect (and His Spear)

Okay, so you’ve suffered through the Wallfort Demesnes, dodged Roland's puppy-dog eyes, and are now knee-deep in Chapter 15. You're nearing Maxwell's lair. At this point, you might be thinking, "Psh, I'm a tactical genius! This will be a piece of cake!" That's precisely what I thought... right before my carefully laid plans were devoured by a pack of ravenous wolves (metaphorically speaking, of course. Though there are wolves in the game, so be warned!).

In Chapter 15, you'll face a pivotal vote at the Scales of Conviction. This vote will determine whether or not you head to the Aesfrosti capital. Getting Maxwell hinges on you voting to protect Roland. I know, I know, the guy can be a bit…moody. But trust me on this. We're playing the long game here, folks. Think of it as an investment. An investment in sweet, sweet spear-chucking action.

Now, here's where things get a bit hairy. Even if you vote to protect Roland, the game doesn't just hand you Maxwell on a silver platter. Oh no, that would be far too easy. You actually have to talk to him! You’ll find Maxwell in the encampment once you’ve reached it, so talk to him to get him to join you.

If you followed Frederica's path, you protected Roland, and you have a decent Conviction score in Liberty, Morality, and Utility, Maxwell should finally see you as worthy of his legendary spear. Conviction isn't as simple as good vs. evil. To influence it, you need to:

  • Choose dialogue options that align with the Convictions you want to raise.
  • Explore the world and interact with NPCs.
  • Win battles with minimal casualties.

Think of it like this: Liberty is about freedom, Morality is about doing the "right" thing, and Utility is about practicality. Maxwell, being an experienced warrior, respects all of these qualities. So be a paragon of virtue (or at least pretend to be) throughout the game!

Maxwell Joins the Team! (Celebratory Cake Optional)

And there you have it! If you’ve done everything right, Maxwell will finally grace your party with his presence. Now you can unleash his ridiculous spear attacks upon your enemies. He's a powerhouse, especially when positioned on high ground (and who isn't, am I right?).

So, go forth and recruit Maxwell! Just remember to bring your patience, your tactical prowess, and maybe a small offering of prune juice. You'll need it. And once you finally get him, feel free to do a little victory dance. You've earned it.

Good Luck!
