Thomas & Friends Season 24 Episode 23

Okay, let's talk Thomas & Friends. Specifically, Season 24, Episode 23. You know, the one everyone seems to love? I have...thoughts.
Maybe it's just me. But does anyone else feel like some episodes are a bit...much? Like they're trying a little too hard to be "educational" and "meaningful"?
The Plot (In a Nutshell)
Without giving away too much (spoilers!), it involves a problem. And a solution. Obviously. Thomas always solves the problem. That's kind of his thing.
Must Read
I think it involves some sort of delivery gone wrong. And maybe a little bit of teamwork. Pretty standard Sodor stuff, really.
My Unpopular Opinion
Here's where things get spicy. I'm not sure this episode is as great as everyone makes it out to be.
Don't get me wrong, it's not bad. But is it a classic? A masterpiece? Nah. I'd say it's firmly in the "okay" category.

I just feel like the moral of the story was hammered home a little too hard. We get it, Thomas! Teamwork makes the dream work. We've heard it before.
The Characters (As Usual)
Thomas is...Thomas. Energetic, sometimes a little clueless, but always well-meaning. He's basically the golden retriever of locomotives.
The other engines are there too. Percy, Gordon, maybe even a glimpse of Diesel causing trouble. You know the drill.
I sometimes wish they'd shake things up a bit more. Give Gordon a happy ending, for once! Let Percy be the hero! Just a thought.

Is it the animation?
The animation is generally decent. It's shiny, bright, and appeals to little ones.
I do miss the old model days though! Anyone else remember those glorious sets? The charm was real.
The CGI is fine, I guess. But it lacks that certain...je ne sais quoi of the original.
The Verdict
So, is Season 24 Episode 23 worth watching? Sure! If you're a Thomas completist, absolutely. If your kids love trains, they'll probably enjoy it.

Just don't expect it to blow your mind. It's a solid, if unremarkable, addition to the Thomas & Friends canon.
Maybe my expectations are too high. Maybe I'm just a grumpy adult who needs to lighten up. Probably both.
What Could Have Been Better?
Honestly, a little more originality would have gone a long way. A new character, a different setting, anything to break the mold.
Also, maybe dial back the preachiness just a tad. We trust our kids to figure things out. Subtlety is a friend.

And perhaps, just perhaps, let Thomas fail once in a while? Show the kids that it's okay to make mistakes!
Final Thoughts
Look, I still love Thomas & Friends. It's a classic for a reason. It provides hours of entertainment for kids (and some adults, let's be honest).
But not every episode can be a winner. And in my humble (and possibly controversial) opinion, this one just doesn't quite reach the top of the pile.
I'm ready for your disagreement! Tell me why I'm wrong in the comments below. Let the Thomas debate begin!
