This Is Us Season 5 Episode 12 Online

Okay, let's talk about that episode of This Is Us. You know the one. Season 5, Episode 12. The one everyone seemed to have Very Strong Opinions about.
Did We Really Need a Road Trip?
Seriously, a road trip? During that time? It felt a little...forced, didn't it? Like the writers were trying to inject some drama into a situation that was already overflowing with it.
I get it, it's a TV show. They need conflict. But couldn't the conflict have been, I don't know, internal?
Must Read
Maybe it's just me. But I think the road trip was a tad unnecessary.
The Nicky Factor: My Unpopular Opinion
Now, hear me out. I love Nicky. Really, I do. He's a complex character. He adds a layer of depth to Jack's story.
But his sudden appearance and immediate acceptance? Still feels a bit...rushed. Like they skipped a few therapy sessions.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he's part of the family. Just wish the transition had felt a little more earned.
Kevin's Stress: Relatable, or Overdone?
Okay, Kevin. The guy's got a lot on his plate. New dad, family drama, Hollywood career... It's a recipe for a meltdown.
Was his stress believable? Absolutely. Did it sometimes feel like they were piling it on just for dramatic effect? Also, yes.
I mean, come on! Give the man a break! Maybe a spa day with Randall?

Madison: The Unsung Hero?
Madison deserves a medal. Seriously. Dealing with all the Pearson family chaos? While raising twins? She's a saint.
I felt like her strength was slightly overshadowed in this episode. Maybe because of all the other stuff going on.
More Madison, please! She's the grounded one we all need.
The Ending: Did It Land?
The ending. Of course, there was an ending. This Is Us always delivers some kind of emotional gut-punch, doesn't it?

Did it land? For some, definitely. For me? It felt a little...predictable. Like they were checking off boxes on the "Emotional Television Tropes" list.
But hey, I'm still watching. So they're clearly doing something right.
Overall: Still Hooked (But Slightly Annoyed)
Look, I'm not saying it was a bad episode. It wasn't. It was This Is Us. There were tears, there were feelings, there were flashbacks.
But it wasn't my favorite. I felt like it relied too heavily on some familiar tropes. And maybe tried to cram too much into one hour.

Will I keep watching? Absolutely. I'm a Pearson family addict. I can't help myself.
Final Thought: More Miguel, Less Manufactured Drama
Can we all agree that we need more Miguel? He is the rock of that family.
And maybe, just maybe, a little less of the overly dramatic storylines. Just a thought.
Okay, rant over. Now, back to binge-watching.
