The Worst Person In The World On Demand

Okay, let's be honest. Has anyone else watched The Worst Person In The World and thought, "Ehhh, she's not that bad?" I know, I know, hear me out.
Don't get me wrong. Julie makes questionable decisions. Like, really questionable.
The Indecisiveness Is Real
We've all been there, right? Career crisis at 30? Check. Relationship confusion? Double check. Constantly questioning every life choice? Oh yeah, been there, ate the t-shirt.
Must Read
Julie just takes it to an extreme. A beautifully shot, Scandinavian extreme. But still.
A Little Too Relatable?
Maybe that's why I'm not totally appalled by her. Maybe I see a little bit of myself in her chaotic energy. A little bit of my friend who dumped a perfectly nice guy for a barista. A little bit of my cousin who switched majors five times.

Is it bad that I find comfort in her mess? Am I a terrible person for not condemning her every move?
The Aksel Factor
And let's talk about Aksel. He's great, right? Mature, successful, clearly loves her. But is he maybe... a little too settled? A little too "adulting" for someone still figuring things out?
I'm not saying he's the villain. But sometimes, you need a little chaos in your life. Even if that chaos is Eivind, the guy who doesn't believe in cheating during their agreed-upon "no cheating" experiment. Seriously, what was that?

The Movie's Charm
The movie isn't really about finding the worst person. It's about finding yourself. It's about navigating the messy, complicated journey of life.
And let's be real, that journey is rarely linear. Sometimes, you zig when you should zag. Sometimes, you date the wrong person. Sometimes, you make a lot of mistakes.

Unpopular Opinion Time
So, here it is, my possibly unpopular opinion: Julie isn't the worst person in the world. She's just... a person. A flawed, relatable, beautifully portrayed person.
She is fumbling her way through adulthood. The fact that the fumbling is broadcasted on the silver screen and lauded by critics doesn't make it any less relatable.
Maybe We're All A Little "Worst"
Maybe we all have a little bit of "worst person" inside us. The part that makes questionable choices. The part that second-guesses everything. The part that just wants to figure it all out.

So, next time you're judging Julie, remember: maybe you're just judging a reflection of yourself. A really, really stylish reflection, but a reflection nonetheless.
And hey, at least she has a great soundtrack. That's got to count for something, right?
Don't hate me! Watch it again. Then tell me I'm wrong. I dare you.
