The Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 1 Cast

The Walking Dead: First Bites (of the Cast, That Is!)
Okay, let's be real. Season 1, Episode 1 of The Walking Dead? Iconic. But let's talk about the real reason we all tuned in: the cast! Who made us scream? Who made us sigh? And who… well, who was walker bait?
Rick Grimes: Sheriff Charming (But Kinda Clueless?)
First up, Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln. Sheriff dude wakes up from a coma. The world’s gone zombie bananas. He's gotta find his family.
Unpopular opinion: He’s a bit… slow on the uptake, isn’t he? Like, "Wow, these people are really hungry!" Dude, they're trying to eat your face! He's charming, sure. But charm won’t protect you from a horde.
Must Read
Lori Grimes: The Drama Queen (Before It Was Cool)
Then we have Lori Grimes, brought to life (pun intended) by Sarah Wayne Callies. Rick's wife, presumed dead. Surprise! She's very much alive... and sleeping with his best friend. Oh, Lori.
Okay, I get it. Zombie apocalypse, emotions are high. But the drama? Level: Expert. Don't even get me started with the Shane drama.

Shane Walsh: Best Friend Gone Bad (So, So Bad)
Speaking of Shane Walsh, played by Jon Bernthal. Rick's best friend, protector of his family. Also, secret lover of his wife.
He starts off so... dependable! Then he goes full-on "I'm gonna do whatever it takes to survive, even if it means being a total jerk." It's a classic character arc, sure. But his decisions? Questionable, at best.
Carl Grimes: Kid Apocalypse (And Already Annoying!)
Let’s not forget young Carl Grimes, portrayed by Chandler Riggs. Rick and Lori’s son. Growing up way too fast.

I know, I know, he's just a kid. But even in the first episode, you can see the seeds of "Coral!" being sown. He is there. So young.
Glenn Rhee: Pizza Delivery Hero (And Heartthrob!)
Ah, Glenn Rhee! Played by the ever-lovable Steven Yeun. The pizza delivery guy who becomes a total badass. He has my heart.

He's brave, resourceful, and actually kinda funny. Honestly, he's the only character who seems to have a handle on the whole zombie situation. He also has a sweet side. Awww!
Andrea: The Lawyer With a Gun (and a Bad Temper)
Andrea, played by Laurie Holden, rounds out our main cast. A lawyer who quickly learns how to handle a firearm. And hold a grudge.
She's tough, independent, and not afraid to speak her mind. But sometimes, her mind leads her to make some… questionable choices. Remember when she was the only one that helped the old man?

Okay, that's my take on the season one premiere cast. Did I miss anyone? Who was your favorite? And who did you secretly hope would become zombie chow? Don’t be shy; let’s debate!
After all, we’re all just trying to survive… the drama!
