Okay, let's talk Swan Princess. Specifically, Swan Princess and the Secret of the Castle. You know, the one with the weird swamp creatures?

I have a confession: I kind of liked it better than the original.

The Second Swan Song: Better Than The First?

Don't get me wrong, the original Swan Princess is a classic. But hear me out! The sequel has a certain...charm.

Maybe it's because I’m a sucker for a good rescue mission. Or maybe it’s because I secretly wanted Jean-Bob to get more screen time.

Either way, I'm here to defend this often-overlooked gem.

The plot moves faster than Jean-Bob trying to convince himself he's a prince. Remember the original? It was good, but a little slow for some.

The sequel hits the ground running. Odette and Derek are married, and suddenly there's a new villain. Boom! Conflict!

No more "is he in love with me?" internal monologues. Thank goodness.

Let's be honest, Speed, Puffin, and Jean-Bob carry this movie. They're hilarious.

Their antics are way more engaging this time around. Plus, that little spider? Adorable (in a creepy, crawly kind of way).

Anyone who doesn’t laugh when Jean-Bob attempts heroism is probably a Klump in disguise.

Poor Lord Rogers. He's a bit of a bumbling fool. But he’s our bumbling fool!

In this movie, he actually gets to contribute to the team. Sort of. Okay, maybe he mostly gets in the way. But still!

Seeing him try is endearing. He wants to be helpful, and that counts for something.

Okay, Clavius isn't the most compelling villain ever created. But is he worse than Rothbart? Debatable.

At least Clavius has a clear motivation: power and revenge. He's straightforward, if a little bland.

And lets face it, Rothbart just brooded a lot.

Controversial, I know. But some of the songs in the sequel are real earworms. They are surprisingly good.

“That’s What You Do For Family” is actually a sweet song about loyalty and working together. Try to argue with me.

It’s not winning any Oscars, but it’s definitely singalong material.

The Swan Princess and the Secret of the Castle doesn't take itself too seriously. And that’s its strength.

It’s a fun, lighthearted adventure. It’s a perfect for a lazy afternoon.

So, next time you’re looking for a nostalgic watch, give this sequel a chance. You might just be surprised.
