The Rising Of The Shield Hero Crunchyroll

Is The Rising of the Shield Hero on Crunchyroll… Overhyped? (Maybe?)
Okay, okay, don't @ me! I know a lot of people love this show. And yeah, I watched it on Crunchyroll too.
But am I the only one who thinks it gets a little… much? Like, everyone's obsessed with Naofumi and his shield.
The Angsty Beginning
The first few episodes? Totally gripping. The betrayal, the hate, the struggle? Chef's kiss!
Must Read
Naofumi gets royally screwed over. We all feel bad for him. You can stream that angst on Crunchyroll anytime!
But then it's like, okay, we get it. Bad things happened. Can we move on now?
Raphtalia: The Best Girl (Probably)
Let's be real. Raphtalia is a treasure. She's the reason most of us kept watching on Crunchyroll.
That wholesome relationship? Adorable! Protect her at all costs!

Seriously, without Raphtalia, would anyone even remember The Rising of the Shield Hero?
Filo: The Chicken… I Mean, Bird
Filo is… well, she's something. A giant bird that turns into a cute girl? Sure, why not?
Her antics are amusing. But sometimes, I just wanted her to stop yelling "Filo!"
Does anyone else think she's a little too convenient of a character? She solves a lot of problems pretty easily.

The Plot Thickens… Or Does It?
The overarching plot about the waves and saving the world? It's there, I guess.
But honestly, I found myself more invested in the characters' daily lives. Like, what new food are they gonna try next?
Sometimes it feels like the wave battles are just an excuse to show off Naofumi's new shield powers he gets on Crunchyroll episodes.
The Harem Element (Ugh)
Let's not even get started on the harem aspect. It's anime. It was bound to happen.

But did it really need to be there? Couldn't Naofumi just be friends with these girls?
I'm just saying, the show could have done without it. More time for shield upgrades, less romantic tension!
Is It Still Worth Watching on Crunchyroll?
Despite my nitpicks, The Rising of the Shield Hero is entertaining. Especially on Crunchyroll where you can binge-watch it all.
The action is good. The characters are (mostly) likable.

Just don't go in expecting a masterpiece. Lower your expectations a little. You might enjoy it more.
My Unpopular Opinion: It's Good, Not Great
So, yeah. The Rising of the Shield Hero is good. It's fun.
But is it the best anime ever? No. Not even close.
It's just… a solid, entertaining isekai with a protagonist who needs a serious hug, which you can find it's new episode every season on Crunchyroll. What do you think?
