The Prince Of Tennis Match Tennis Juniors Season 2

Okay, let's talk Prince of Tennis: Match Tennis Juniors Season 2. We all watched it, right? And probably yelled at our screens a few times. I know I did!
Season 2: My Unpopular Opinions
Here's the thing: I have some thoughts. Maybe they're a little... spicy. Maybe you won't agree. But hey, that's what makes things interesting, right?
The Power-Ups: Getting Out of Hand?
Did anyone else feel like the power-ups were getting a little... much? I mean, I love a good tennis-based superpower as much as the next person. But sometimes it felt like they were pulling abilities out of thin air!
Must Read
Remember when Ryoma was just... good at tennis? Now he's bending space and time. Where do they even come up with these moves?
Don’t get me wrong; I'm still cheering. It just feels a bit different now. Is it still tennis, or are we watching Dragon Ball Z on a tennis court?
That One Character… You Know The One
Okay, I’m not going to name names. But there was that one character in Season 2. The one who just... annoyed me.

Maybe it was their backstory. Maybe it was their constant monologuing. Maybe it was their questionable fashion choices. Whatever it was, I just couldn't get on board.
I know, I know. Every show needs a villain (or a character you love to hate). But this one just felt... forced? Anyone else feel me on this?
The Animation: Flashy, But...
The animation in Match Tennis Juniors Season 2 was definitely... flashy. So many bright colors. So many dramatic angles.

Sometimes, though, it felt like style over substance. Did we really need that five-minute sequence of a ball spinning? I appreciate the effort, truly. But my attention span can only handle so much.
I also thought it would be funnier if Coach Ryuzaki was given more screen time.
The Stakes: Where Did The Tension Go?
Remember when the matches felt genuinely tense? Like, you were actually worried about whether Seigaku would win or lose? Season 2 seemed to ease up on this.

It felt like the show was more focused on showcasing cool moves than building actual suspense. Which, again, is fun! But where's the nail-biting drama?
Maybe it’s because Ryoma is seemingly invincible. Or maybe it’s because the plot armor is thicker than a tennis racket grip. Whatever the reason, the stakes just didn't feel as high.
Final Thoughts (And Another Unpopular Opinion)
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed Prince of Tennis: Match Tennis Juniors Season 2. I wouldn't have watched it if I didn't! But...it's not perfect.

And here's my final unpopular opinion: I actually liked some of the filler episodes! Sometimes it's nice to just see the characters hanging out and being themselves. Not every episode needs to be a life-or-death tennis battle.
So, what did you all think? Am I completely off base? Or do you secretly agree with some of my spicy takes? Let me know in the comments!
Ultimately, The Prince of Tennis is still something enjoyable to watch.
