Unicorn's Sparkly Struggle

Then came the Unicorn, who looked like she wandered off the set of a children's birthday party, bless her heart. She's sweet, she's sparkly, she's... a little pitchy. I'm not going to lie.

Her rendition of "Fight Song" was spirited, even if it wasn't exactly hitting all the right notes. The judges struggled here and gave guesses from Denise Richards to Tori Spelling. It was Tori Spelling indeed!

Lion's Roaring Debut

Oh, the Lion! She came onto the stage, with "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody". She commanded the stage, and sang with confidence.

He took a shot at "My Sharona" and he was a disaster. He got sent home. That wasn't the most surprising. What was the most surprising, was that he was Antonio Brown.

And lastly, the Deer. It seems like the Deer had some experience with this, because he sang "Thunder" with such perfection.

He gave the show so much energy! The judges guessed people like Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. The Deer was revealed as Terry Bradshaw.

The Verdict

Season 1, Episode 1 of The Masked Singer is pure, unadulterated fun. It's ridiculous, it's over-the-top, and it's exactly the kind of escapism we all need sometimes. The costumes are amazing, the performances are... varied, and the guessing game is utterly addictive.
