The Hero Laughs While Walking Read Online

Okay, let’s talk about something that’s been bugging me. It's those hero laughs. You know the ones?
I'm talking about the ones you find when you're reading online. Specifically, “The Hero Laughs While Walking”.
Am I the only one who finds them… weird?
Must Read
The Unpopular Opinion: Laughing While Walking is Odd
Picture this: Our hero, fresh from saving the day, struts off. Suddenly, a random burst of laughter erupts.
While he’s walking. Just…laughing.
I'm sorry, but who actually does that?
Is It Supposed to Be Intimidating?
Maybe it's supposed to be intimidating. Like a Bond villain with a diabolical chuckle.
But come on! Bond villains are intentionally creepy. Heroes are supposed to be… relatable!

Do you relate to someone who cackles to themselves while walking down the street?
Or Maybe It's Confidence?
Okay, fine. Perhaps it’s meant to show confidence. The hero is so secure in their victory, they can’t help but laugh!
Still sounds kind of narcissistic, doesn't it? "Ha! I'm so awesome, I laugh as I leave the scene!"
It’s a bit much, even for a hero, isn't it?
The Practicality Problem
Let's get practical for a second. Laughing makes you breathe harder. It can also make you lose your balance, depending on the laugh.

So, our hero is potentially making themselves an easier target. Why?
All for a weird, theatrical moment that only works in a read online format.
Alternatives to Laughter
Wouldn’t a smirk be better? A subtle nod? Even a quiet "hmph" of satisfaction?
All of those convey confidence without making the hero sound like they’re auditioning for a Joker role.
A quiet, knowing smile works wonders, especially while walking. Think about it.

The Impact on Readers
When I'm reading online, I want to connect with the characters. I want to see myself in them, even a little bit.
A random, triumphant laugh ruins that. It creates distance.
It makes me think, "Okay, you're clearly a fictional character. Now go away."
The Verdict: Tone Down the Laughing!
So, my plea to all the writers out there? Tone down the laughter. Please!
Find other ways to show your hero’s strength. Show their confidence. Show their relief.

Just… maybe not with a full-blown, villainous cackle while they're casually walking away from a crisis.
Consider this: maybe, just maybe, silence is golden.
And sometimes, a well-placed eyebrow raise speaks volumes. Especially when reading online.
Let's retire the trope of "The Hero Laughs While Walking." The streets will be quieter, and the heroes will be more relatable.
