The Good Doctor Cast Season 5 Episode 1

Shaun and Lea's Wedding: A Tad Too Much?
Okay, let's talk about The Good Doctor Season 5, Episode 1. Specifically, Shaun and Lea's wedding! Did anyone else feel like it was... a LOT?
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for them. But seriously, the drama was overflowing! I think I needed a hospital after watching it.
The Wedding Drama: My Unpopular Opinion
First off, the earthquake! I get that TV shows need conflict. But an earthquake at a wedding? Really?
Must Read
It felt a bit forced, like the writers were just trying too hard to make things exciting. My plants have been experiencing an issue lately. That's my reality.
And then, the whole thing with the photographer. It was just adding stress to already stressed people!
Maybe that was the point, but I found myself thinking, "Can't these people just have ONE nice day?" Perhaps The Good Doctor needs to learn from other TV shows.

Shaun's Speech: Sweet But...
Shaun's speech was classic Shaun. It was honest and heartfelt. We all love to see Shaun Murphy express himself.
But even that felt a little... long? My dog only listens for a minute to my speeches. So I feel this.
I found myself zoning out a little. Sorry, Shaun! I'm sure the wedding ceremony was the perfect moment for the couple.
Lea's Dress: A Miss for Me
Okay, this is going to sound shallow. Lea's wedding dress wasn't my favorite. Sorry, Lea!

It just didn't seem to suit her personality. Too formal, maybe? I don't know!
Maybe I'm just jealous because I can't even coordinate my socks. The dress reminded me of a princess dress, which I don't think represents her well.
The Aftermath: Setting Up Season 5
The episode definitely set the stage for Season 5. The new residents are intriguing.

I'm curious to see where their stories go. Especially the one who wants to learn from Dr. Shaun Murphy.
And of course, there's always hospital drama to look forward to. Will someone start a feud?
Overall: A Decent Start, But...
Overall, the episode was a decent start to the season. It had the right amount of emotion and medical cases.
But the wedding drama felt a little over the top. A little too much, in my opinion.

Maybe I'm just a cynical viewer. Or maybe I just wanted a simpler, sweeter wedding for Shaun and Lea.
Final Thoughts: Still Watching!
Despite my criticisms, I'm still excited for Season 5. I'm invested in these characters. The Good Doctor is here to stay!
I just hope the drama calms down a bit. And that someone gets Lea a new dress. Just kidding (sort of)!
What do you think? Am I totally off base? Let me know!
