The Executioner And Her Way Of Life On Crunchyroll

Okay, let's talk about The Executioner and Her Way of Life on Crunchyroll. Some people really like this show. I get it...sort of.
It's Pretty, Right?
Visually, it's stunning. The colors pop. Menoa looks amazing. I can't deny that.
The fight scenes are pretty cool too. Lots of flashy magic. Who doesn't love a good magic battle?
Must Read
But Here's the Thing...
Am I the only one who finds the plot a little...confusing? Maybe I'm just dense. Probably.
All that talk about "Otherworlders" and "Pure Concepts"? It goes right over my head. I often find myself just nodding along, pretending I understand everything. Don't judge me!

And Akari. Bless her heart. She's supposed to be this mysterious and powerful force of chaos. But sometimes, she just seems... ditzy.
"Oh no, I'm immortal! Tee hee!"Okay, Akari. Whatever you say.
Unpopular Opinion Time!
The whole "yuri" aspect. It feels a little forced sometimes, doesn't it? Maybe that's just me.

I mean, cute girls doing cute things is fine. But the constant blushing and awkward hand-holding? It's a bit much sometimes.
Look, I'm not saying it's bad. Just…overplayed. Other anime do it better, IMHO.
Is it Actually... Good?
Okay, okay. Deep breaths. Let's try to be objective. Is The Executioner and Her Way of Life actually good?

It's definitely not the worst anime I've ever seen. I've sat through some real stinkers. This isn't one of them.
The characters are likable enough. Even if I don't always understand their motivations. And the animation is top-notch. Can't fault it there.
The Verdict?
So, should you watch it? Maybe? It depends on what you're looking for. If you want a visually stunning show with a complex plot (that you may or may not understand), then go for it.

If you're looking for something deep and meaningful... well, maybe look elsewhere. Unless you think cute girls holding hands IS deep and meaningful. In that case, knock yourself out.
Ultimately, The Executioner and Her Way of Life is...fine. Perfectly watchable. But not exactly groundbreaking. You won't regret watching it, but you might not remember it next year either.
And that's okay! Not every anime needs to be a masterpiece. Sometimes, you just want something pretty to look at while you zone out after a long day. If that's what you're after, then Menoa and Akari are here for you. Just don't expect too much.
