We've seen possessed people contort their bodies before. We know jump scares are coming around every corner.

It started feeling less like a genuine horror film and more like a slightly darker episode of Scooby-Doo. Where’s Shaggy when you need him?

The Occultist: A Worthy Villain?

The main villain, the occultist, was…fine. But compare her to Valak, the nun from The Conjuring 2. Now that's a terrifying antagonist.

The occultist felt a bit underdeveloped, almost like an afterthought. I wanted more backstory, more motivation, more oomph!

Maybe it's just me. But I wanted a villain that gave me nightmares for weeks, not just for the night.

The Verdict: Still Watchable, But Not Top Tier

Look, I’m not saying don’t watch The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. It’s entertaining enough. It’s on Netflix!

It's a decent way to spend a spooky evening, especially if you're a fan of the franchise.

But compared to the other Conjuring movies? For me, it's just… okay. Am I alone in this?

Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe I'm just becoming immune to jump scares.

Whatever the reason, this one didn't quite cast its spell on me. I would still binge it though.
