The Cast Of The Amazing Spider Man 2

Remember The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Let's Talk About That Cast!
Okay, let's be real. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was… a lot. But the cast? They gave it their all! Especially when some of them probably knew the script was a bit bonkers.
Andrew Garfield: The Emo Superhero
Andrew Garfield. He tried so hard! He truly did! He brought the goofy, awkward Peter Parker we all secretly love.
Some say he was too emo. Too angsty. I say he was perfectly capturing the spirit of a teenager dealing with world-saving responsibilities. Anyone else agree?
Must Read
Unpopular opinion: I liked his Spider-Man better than Tobey's. Fight me! (Just kidding... mostly).
Emma Stone: The Underrated Heart
Oh, Emma Stone. She was the absolute best part of those movies. Gwen Stacy deserved better!
She was smart, funny, and totally grounded. She made even the silliest scenes believable. She made Peter/Spider-Man better.

Seriously, can we all just agree that Emma Stone is a national treasure? Especially when she delivers sad dialogues. Pure talent.
Jamie Foxx: From Fanboy to Foe
Then there's Jamie Foxx as Electro. Now, that was a choice! A powerful choice, but a choice nonetheless!
He started as a slightly creepy, obsessed fanboy. Then transformed into a neon-blue supervillain. Talk about a glow-up... or is it glow-down?

Did anyone else feel like his motivation was a little... flimsy? I mean, I get being ignored is frustrating, but world domination?
Dane DeHaan: The Friend Turned Foe
Let’s not forget Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn/Green Goblin. He was pretty good and creepy.
He perfected that brooding, slightly unsettling vibe. Even when he was just being a normal, rich kid, you knew something was off. That is talent.

That transformation scene, though. Yikes! Too much, or just the right amount of comic book craziness?
The Supporting Squad
Sally Field as Aunt May! She was classic Aunt May. Sweet, supportive, and totally clueless about her nephew's double life.
Paul Giamatti as The Rhino... okay, that was just plain weird. A Russian accent and a mechanical rhino suit? What were they thinking?

Seriously, did anyone take Rhino seriously? I definitely think, the cast that was introduced in the movie that have something missing.
Final Thoughts: Guilty Pleasures and What-Ifs
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a flawed film, no doubt about it. However, the cast tried their best.
The actors brought their A-game. Can you imagine what could have been with a better script and more focused direction?
So, let's raise a glass to Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and the rest of the cast! Thanks for trying to make this movie a masterpiece. Even though it didn't quite get there.
