That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Voices

Okay, let's talk That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Great show, right? But can we all agree that sometimes, just sometimes, the voices do some weird stuff?
Don't get me wrong! The voice actors are incredibly talented. They bring so much life to these characters.
Rimuru's Voice: A Balancing Act
Rimuru, our beloved slime protagonist. His voice is...an experience. He's supposed to be this powerful, evolving being. But then, he sounds like a really nice teenager explaining why he deserves a bigger allowance.
Must Read
Is it just me, or is the gap between the voice and what he does wildly different sometimes? I get it, he's trying to be approachable. But maybe a little more gravitas wouldn't hurt?
Shion's Enthusiastic Screams
Ah, Shion. Loyal, powerful, and... loud. Very, very loud.
Her screams of adoration for Rimuru are legendary. And sometimes, ear-splitting.

I'm all for enthusiasm, but did anyone else have to turn the volume down a tad when she gets going?
Gobta: The Unsung (and Under-Appreciated) Voice
Now, here's where my "unpopular opinion" flag goes up. I think Gobta's voice actor is absolutely nailing it.
He perfectly captures Gobta's goofy, awkward, and surprisingly competent nature. Gobta is great!
Seriously, give that voice actor a raise. They deserve it for bringing the comic relief!

The Other Voices: A Mixed Bag
The rest of the cast? Generally fantastic. Benimaru's voice is appropriately commanding. Shuna's voice is sweet and innocent. Milim is appropriately manic.
No real complaints there! But there's always something.
Sometimes I feel the translation has some hiccups and makes the characters a little weird when talking.

The English Dub: Worth a Watch?
I am usually a sub person. But the English dub is surprisingly well-done. I said it.
While I still prefer the original Japanese, the English voice actors bring a lot of charm to their roles.
Rimuru's voice is perhaps less jarring in the English version. But maybe that's just me getting used to the character.
Final Thoughts (and a Plea)
Look, I love That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. The world-building, the characters, the story—it's all amazing. I just think the voice direction could use a little tweaking.

Maybe dial back the high-pitched screams just a little bit? And give Rimuru a slightly more imposing tone? Just suggestions!
I'm still gonna keep watching, regardless. Because, let's be honest, who can resist a cute slime leading a nation of monsters?
So, what do you think? Am I totally off base? Or do you share my slightly-unhinged opinions on the voices of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime?
Let me know! Let's discuss!
