That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Ep 44

Okay, let's talk about That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Specifically, episode 44. I know, I know, it's been a while. But some things just stick with you, you know?
I'm just gonna say it. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion. But here it goes…
Rimuru's Evolution: A Bit of a Snooze Fest?
We all love Rimuru. He's a blue slime who builds a nation. What's not to love? But sometimes, even a super cool slime can have a slightly…dull episode.
Must Read
Episode 44 felt a bit like that. It was mostly about Rimuru evolving. Lots of glowing and inner monologues. Don't get me wrong, the power-up was cool. But it could have been snappier, right?
I mean, we’ve seen Rimuru go through some insane transformations. Remember when he first became a Demon Lord? Now that was exciting!
The Waiting Game
The biggest problem for me was the anticipation. The whole episode builds up to this ultimate evolution. And then...it happens. I just expected a bit more pizzazz!

I guess the focus was on the internal struggle. On Rimuru processing his grief. A respectable theme, to be fair.
But still! A few more explosions would have been nice. Is that too much to ask?
Character Development or Convenient Plot Device?
While Rimuru's evolution is important, some of the explanations felt rushed. Like, "Oh, now I can do this because…reasons!"

I love the supporting characters. But even they felt a little sidelined in this episode. Shion was great as always. But I wanted more screen time for the other members!
Maybe I'm being too harsh. It's a setup episode for bigger things to come. But I just wanted a little more action.
The Emotional Rollercoaster
Okay, the emotional parts were pretty good. Seeing Rimuru deal with the loss of his people was heartbreaking. I'm not made of stone!

But even then, it felt a bit...drawn out. Like we were lingering in the sadness a little too long. Need more happiness slime!
I guess I'm just impatient. I wanted to see Rimuru unleash his new powers! And I'll admit, the final moments of the episode did give me goosebumps.
Still a Great Show, Though!
Look, I'm not saying episode 44 was bad. Just… not my favorite. The show is still amazing.

Rimuru is still a fantastic protagonist. And the world-building is top-notch.
But even the best shows have their weaker moments. And for me, episode 44 was one of them. Give me more Milim shenanigans! I love that demon lord.
So, what do you think? Am I being too critical? Or do you agree that episode 44 was a little underwhelming? Let me know in the comments! (If this were a real blog, of course).
Either way, I'm still eagerly awaiting the next episode. Because even a slightly dull Slime episode is better than most shows out there!
