That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime 12 Patrons

Okay, let's talk That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. We all love it, right? Especially the characters. But can we be honest for a second?
I'm about to say something possibly controversial. It's about the 12 Patrons. Yes, those guys.
The Elephant (or Ogre?) in the Room
They're strong. I get it. Super important to Rimuru's whole kingdom-building thing. But... are they all that interesting?
Must Read
Let's face it, some are definitely carrying the team. Others? Well, let's just say their personality could use a little... spice.
The Obvious MVPs
We gotta start with Benimaru. Fire powers? Check. Loyal as heck? Double check. General awesomeness? Triple check!
He's got the cool, collected leader vibe down. Plus, he looks amazing. Who doesn't love Benimaru?
Then there's Shion. Okay, her cooking is... questionable. But her devotion to Rimuru is heartwarming (and sometimes hilarious).

And you can't deny her strength. She's a powerhouse! Plus, that whole secretary thing? Iconic.
Diablo, let's not forget him. The demon butler with a secret obsession for Rimuru's power? Intriguing, to say the least.
He's powerful and his loyalty is unwavering. Plus, he brings that touch of darkness that the story needs.
And Then There's... The Rest
Now, don't get me wrong. I don't hate the other Patrons. But let's be real, some of them blend together.
Like, if you asked me to describe Souei without looking it up, I'd struggle. He's... ninja-y? And quiet?

He's useful, sure. But memorable? Eh, not so much. Sorry, Souei!
What about Hakurou? He's an amazing swordsman, I admit that. But is that all there is to him?
He is a very respected elder. But at some point his importance felt like plot device.
And let's not even start with the characters that get, like, two lines of dialogue per season. I'm looking at you, Kurobe!
Are they necessary to the plot? Sure. But are they stealing the spotlight? Nope.

Unpopular Opinion Time: Scale Down!
Here's my controversial take: maybe 12 Patrons is too many? Hear me out!
Imagine if they trimmed the number down. Focus on developing a smaller core group.
Give those characters more depth, more screen time. Make us really care about them. Wouldn't that be amazing?
Instead of twelve kinda-sorta-interesting characters, we could have six absolutely unforgettable ones.
Plus, it would make remembering everyone's names a whole lot easier. Win-win!

Okay, okay, I know. Rimuru needs his protectors. He needs his skilled workforce. But still...
A little less quantity, a little more quality? Just a thought!
Don't get me wrong, I love Slime. It is a fun series. But maybe it could be even better?
So, what do you think? Am I completely off my rocker? Or do you secretly agree with me?
Let me know in the comments! And please, be gentle. My slime heart can only take so much criticism.
