Terminal List Season 1 Episode 5 Recap

Episode 5: "Disruption" - More Like My Naptime!
Okay, let's be real. Episode 5 of The Terminal List was…well, a bit of a snooze fest. I know, I know! Heresy! But hear me out.
We got more flashbacks. Yay? More suffering for James Reece! Look, I get it. He's traumatized. But did we really need another slow-motion scene of exploding grenades?
Katie Buranek: Investigative Journalist Extraordinaire (Kinda)
So, Katie Buranek, our intrepid journalist, is still digging. She's sniffing around like a truffle pig on a mission. You go, girl! But seriously, sometimes I wonder if she's just really, really lucky.
Must Read
She's getting closer to the truth, though. And she meets a contact. Someone who can help her get into some files. Very cloak and dagger.
I just wish she'd do it with a little more urgency. Like, the world is ending! Tick-tock, Katie!
Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch… or the Safe House… or Wherever Reece Is
Reece is still brooding. Shocking, I know. He’s also planning his next move. Naturally, it involves a lot of guns and grim determination.

He and Ben Edwards are still thick as thieves. They are planning the next hits. Honestly, their bromance is one of the highlights of the show. Maybe more explosions are in order?
He spends most of the episode staring intensely into the middle distance. It's like he’s trying to telepathically order a pizza. Extra cheese, please!
The Conspiracy Thickens (Like My Gravy!)
The conspiracy deepens. Of course it does! We learn more about why Reece's team was targeted. Surprise! It's all about money and power.

Pharmaceutical companies are involved. Shady government officials, too. Basically, the usual suspects.
At this point, I'm half expecting aliens to show up. Because why not? Let's add another layer of crazy!
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Okay, here's my unpopular opinion. I found this episode kind of…boring. There, I said it!

It felt like a lot of setup. A lot of exposition. Not enough action. I needed more BANG for my buck, literally!
Don't get me wrong. I'm still invested in Reece's revenge quest. But Episode 5 felt like a filler episode.
The Verdict: Slow Burn or Just Plain Slow?
Maybe I'm just impatient. Maybe I wanted more explosions and less brooding. But Episode 5 didn't quite do it for me.

It was a necessary episode. To move the plot along. But it lacked that certain…oomph.
Hopefully, the next episode will pick up the pace. Because I'm ready for some serious payback. And maybe a little less staring into the distance.
Bring on the chaos! And maybe a good cup of coffee. Because Episode 5 nearly put me to sleep.
Did anyone else feel this way? Or am I alone in my blasphemy?
