Okay, confession time. I might be the only person who wasn't blown away by the first episode of the new Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki season. Don't get me wrong, it was fine. Perfectly fine, even.
But groundbreaking? Earth-shattering? Not really. Maybe my expectations were too high after all this time.

The humor felt a little...old-fashioned? Like a sitcom from the 90s. Maybe I'm just used to more modern anime jokes.
I appreciate the classic slapstick. But sometimes it feels a bit repetitive, even a bit predictable.
I will always find Ryo-Ohki's antics entertaining, though. That little space bunny is a treasure.
My Unpopular Opinion: It Was...Okay
Here's the thing. I didn't dislike the episode. It was a perfectly serviceable reintroduction to the Tenchi Muyo! universe.

Despite my reservations, I'm definitely sticking around for the rest of the season. I'm invested in these characters, even if their jokes are occasionally corny.

Also, I am curious about the little girl called Yume. She is cute and seems to bring a bit more complexity to the family dynamic.
