Taraji P Henson Movies And Tv Shows

Okay, let's talk Taraji P. Henson. We all know her. We all (probably) love her. But are we loving her the right way?
The Empire Reigns Supreme (Or Does It?)
Empire, right? That's the show everyone associates with Taraji. Cookie Lyon! She was fierce. She was quotable. She wore outfits I could only dream of pulling off.
But here's my hot take: Empire got a little… messy. Anyone else feel like it jumped the shark somewhere around season three? Just me?
Must Read
Don't get me wrong, Taraji was consistently amazing. She delivered those lines like nobody else could. But the plot? Whew. Sometimes it felt like a fever dream written by a committee of sugar-fueled teenagers.
Hidden Figures: A Stellar Performance
Now, Hidden Figures? That's a different story! What a movie! The story was captivating. The acting was superb. I felt like I was transported back into time and felt like I was right there with Katherine.
Taraji absolutely shone as Katherine Johnson. She brought her brilliance and her quiet strength to life. This is the kind of role that makes you stand up and cheer. Seriously, watch it again.

I truly love that Hidden Figures shows that Black women were vital to building the American space program. I want to see more movies like that.
Baby Boy: A Classic (Maybe a Slightly Problematic) Classic
Let's rewind a bit. Remember Baby Boy? Whew, that movie was something else. Raw. Gritty. And Tyrese Gibson's acting... Well, let's just say he gave it his all.
Taraji played Yvette, his long-suffering girlfriend. She brought a level of realism to the role that really grounded the film. It's a good movie for a young Taraji Henson.

Is it a perfect movie? Nah. But it's definitely a cultural touchstone. I do recommend to people to watch Baby Boy if they never have.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: Underappreciated Gem?
Okay, this might be my most controversial opinion yet. But I really enjoyed Taraji in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. She played Queenie, Benjamin's adoptive mother.
Her performance was warm and heartbreaking. I always forget she's in it and then I'm like, "Oh! Taraji!" It's a small role, but she makes a big impact.

The movie itself is a bit of a slow burn, I'll admit. But it's visually stunning and the story is unique. Give it a chance! Queenie made me cry like a baby.
Person of Interest: Underrated TV Gold
Before Empire, Taraji was on Person of Interest. This show was awesome. I'm not sure how many people still remember it.
The show was always interesting and engaging. Person of Interest was basically CSI with a touch of AI and government conspiracies. Plus, Jim Caviezel? Sold!

Taraji was Detective Carter, a tough and smart cop. She could hang with the best of them. I feel like this show really showcased her versatility.
So, What's the Verdict?
Taraji P. Henson is a powerhouse. Whether she's slaying it as a sassy businesswoman, a brilliant mathematician, or a street-smart detective, she always brings her A-game.
I hope she continues to shine in the future. I would love to see her in a super-hero film one day. I would be first in line to see it.
Maybe my opinions are a little out there. But hey, that's what makes things interesting, right? What are some of your favorite Taraji P. Henson roles? Let me know!
