Okay, let's talk about something important. Something really important. I'm talking about Sword Art Online! More specifically, when are we getting more?

Okay, here's where I might ruffle some feathers. Brace yourselves. Are we sure we want another season?
I know! Heresy! But hear me out. Is it possible the quality… dipped a little after Aincrad? Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it. But maybe, just maybe, less is more?
I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying... maybe expectations are too high. Imagine the pressure on the studio! They have to deliver something amazing. It's like trying to bake the world's best cake when everyone's already full.
Remember Alicization?
Alicization was long. Very, very long. Did it drag on a little? I'm just asking questions! Some of those questions late at night alone in my room!
I spent a solid chunk of my life watching that arc. Not that I regret it! But maybe a slightly shorter, tighter season would be… preferable? I just want well written Sword Art Online material.
Maybe I am just getting old, maybe I don't want to be dragged to the next virtual world saga, maybe I am just tired from farming in online games. What do you want from me?
So, What's the Verdict?
Deep down, I do want another season. I’m a hypocrite, I know. I want to see Asuna kick butt. I want to see Kirito be… Kirito. (You know, overpowered and brooding.)
But I also want it to be good. I want it to be something special. Something that reminds me why I fell in love with the series in the first place.
So, dear anime gods, please give us a new season of Sword Art Online. But please, make it worth the wait. Don't let it be another virtual disappointment. We've had enough of those in real life!
And Reki Kawahara, if you're reading this, no pressure. Just kidding! All the pressure! We're counting on you!
While we're waiting, I guess I'll just rewatch the first season again. For the tenth time. Maybe I'll finally figure out why Kirito's hair defies gravity.
Seriously though, where's the new season? My virtual reality headset is gathering dust. I need a new digital escape! Anyone else feel the same?
