Morty's "romance" with Planetina? Hilariously awkward. The perfect foil to Rick's cynical outlook.

Let's be honest, Morty's love life is always a train wreck. It's part of his charm, isn't it?

And the whole Captain Planet parody? Chef's kiss. They took a cheesy 90s cartoon and gave it a darkly comedic twist.

Plus, the action sequences were pretty great. Rick fighting off eco-terrorists? Always a good time.

It's visually interesting too. The different planets all looked unique and, well, doomed.

Okay, I know, I know. Some people found it preachy. Too on-the-nose with its environmental message.

And maybe it was a little heavy-handed at times. But isn't that kind of the point?

Rick and Morty often tackles serious issues with a layer of irony. It's their way of making you think without lecturing you.

Others said it wasn't funny enough. That it relied too much on shock value. To them I say: lighten up!

It's a cartoon about a nihilistic scientist and his perpetually anxious grandson traveling through space. What did you expect, a sitcom?

Sure, it's not the best episode ever. It's not Pickle Rick, that's for sure.

But it's far from the worst. It's a solid, entertaining episode with some genuinely funny moments and some surprisingly poignant themes.

Besides, any episode that features Rick Sanchez getting drunk and making questionable decisions is a win in my book.
