Hear me out. Season 5 Episode 2? "Mortyplicity?" It's good, sure. But is it amazing?

I feel like it's a perfectly cromulent episode. Yet, maybe, just maybe, a little overrated. Don't @ me!

The Plot Thickens (Like a Bad Schmear)

The whole decoy family thing? Clever. Absolutely.

The self-aware clones killing each other? Peak Rick and Morty nihilism. We get it.

But did it really need to be that long? My attention span is shorter than a Meeseeks lifespan.

The Jokes Land... Kinda

There are definitely laugh-out-loud moments. Especially when Rick is being a jerk. It's his brand, and he wears it well.

And Morty panicking? Always a classic. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You can't look away.

But some of the gags felt… forced? Like they were trying too hard to be edgy. Remember simpler times?

The "Moral" of the Story (If There Is One)

Rick and Morty usually tries to sneak in some deep thoughts. About existentialism. And family. And the infinite void.

This episode? The moral was... uh... don't trust your grandpa? Or maybe "family is complicated?"

Deep stuff. Or maybe I just needed more Szechuan sauce with my nuggets of wisdom.

Unpopular Opinion Alert!

Here's the kicker. I think some other episodes from other seasons are much better. There. I said it.

Remember "Pickle Rick?" Or "Total Rickall?" Pure gold, I tell you! Pure, unadulterated, animated gold.

Those episodes hit harder. They were funnier. They made me question my existence in a more profound way.

Don't Get Me Wrong...

I still love Rick and Morty. I'm a die-hard fan. I have the t-shirt. And the Funko Pop.

I just think "Mortyplicity," while entertaining, isn't the best episode. It's a solid B+.

And in a show with so many A+ episodes? That's practically failing. (Okay, maybe not failing. But you get my point.)

Absolutely! If you haven't seen it, watch it. Form your own opinion. Maybe you'll think I'm completely wrong.

It's a fun, quirky adventure with plenty of clones. But some other episodes just resonate more. At least, for me.
