Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 Review - Cnn

Okay, let's talk Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2. Everyone's been raving. People cried. Dogs probably cried. But did anyone else feel…underwhelmed?
I know, I know. Unpopular opinion alert! Prepare for the internet to come at me with pitchforks and demogorgon teeth.
The Upside Down of Expectations
The hype was real. The wait was long. We expected a mind-blowing finale. Did we get it? Eh, kinda. But more like a slightly bruised mind-blowing.
Must Read
Look, the visuals were stunning. No arguments there. Vecna was creepy AF. But something felt...off.
So Much Build-Up, So Little Payoff?
Season 4 spent so much time setting everything up. Like, so much time. We had separate storylines, new characters, and Vecna's ridiculously detailed backstory.
Then, the finale hits. And everything felt...rushed? Characters made questionable decisions. Plot holes appeared bigger than the gate to the Upside Down.

Don’t get me wrong, Max's near-death experience was emotionally charged. But did it really need to be a full-on music video moment with Running Up That Hill? Seems a little on the nose, Netflix.
Character Quirks...or Quirks Overload?
We love these characters. They're like our awkward, superpowered friends. But sometimes, their quirks got dialed up to eleven.
Erica Sinclair, while hilarious, suddenly became the brains of the operation? Eleven magically gained back her powers just when things looked bleakest? C'mon, writing gods!

The Russia Plot...Seriously?
Okay, let’s be honest. The Russia storyline was...weird. It felt like a completely different show crammed into Stranger Things.
Did we really need that much time dedicated to Hopper fighting demogorgons with a flamethrower? Was it exciting? Sure. Did it feel connected to the main plot? Not really.
And Murray? Bless his heart, he’s funny. But turning him into a karate master felt a bit...forced. He became more of a caricature than a character.
Let's Talk Vecna
Vecna was definitely a formidable villain. He had the Freddy Krueger vibe down pat.

But his backstory felt…convoluted. Was he Henry Creel? One? Vecna? All of the above? My brain hurt trying to keep track.
And the final showdown? It was visually impressive. But it lacked the emotional punch I was expecting.
Is it Still Good? Absolutely.
Don’t get me wrong. Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 was still entertaining. It’s got everything we love: nostalgia, monsters, and plucky kids saving the world.

But compared to previous seasons, it felt a little…bloated. Too many characters, too many storylines, and a plot that felt stretched thin.
Maybe I'm just being a grumpy viewer. Maybe I had ridiculously high expectations. But did anyone else feel like it didn't quite live up to the hype?
"My unpopular opinion: Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 2 was good, but not great."
Now, bring on the angry comments! I'm ready for you, internet. May your demobats be gentle. Just kidding. Be kind, please!
