Songs That Remind Me Of Bucky Barnes

Okay, let’s get real for a second. We all have that one character, right? The one we project a little too much onto. Mine is Bucky Barnes. Don't judge me!
My Bucky Barnes Playlist (Don't @ Me)
Here are some songs that scream James Buchanan Barnes to me. Yes, I know it’s weird. But hear me out!
"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" - Green Day
Okay, this one is practically mandatory. Picture Bucky wandering after escaping HYDRA. It's all mood and angst. So much angst!
Must Read
He's definitely feeling lost and alone. "Walking a boulevard of broken dreams" pretty much sums it up.
"Hallelujah" - Leonard Cohen
A classic, I know. But think about the layers. Think about the pain and the redemption.
It’s not a happy song, obviously. But it speaks to a resilience that Bucky has in spades, after everything he endured. It is Bucky.
"Mr. Blue Sky" - Electric Light Orchestra
Hear me out on this one! This is post-HYDRA Bucky. The hopeful Bucky. The trying-to-be-better Bucky.

He's got his therapy cat (headcanon!). Things are finally starting to look up. Pure, unadulterated optimism after, like, a century of trauma.
"Mad World" - Tears for Fears
This is Winter Soldier central. It gives me all the feels, all the time. It is such a sad and painful song!
You can't tell me that The Winter Soldier wasn't secretly yearning for something more. For a way out of the nightmare. Nope, you can't.
"Welcome to the Jungle" - Guns N' Roses
This song, surprisingly, fits. It's Bucky's life with the Howling Commandos. Gritty and intense.

Before all the HYDRA brainwashing, before the Winter Soldier. A young man stepping into a dangerous world. Raw energy!
"The Sound of Silence" - Simon & Garfunkel
This is Bucky trying to process everything that happened to him. The weight of his actions. The silence after the storm.
It’s about his inner turmoil. The silence of a man wrestling with his demons. So deep!
"Survivor" - Destiny's Child
Okay, laugh all you want, but Bucky Barnes IS a survivor. He's been through the wringer, and he's still standing.

He just wants to be healthy and free. I'm convinced this is his pump-up song before therapy. Don't try to convince me otherwise!
"Fix You" - Coldplay
This one's for Steve Rogers. It's about the unwavering faith Steve had in Bucky. About always believing in him, even when Bucky didn't believe in himself.
Steve wanted to repair Bucky. He wanted to bring him back. And he did!
"Changes" - David Bowie
This one is about acceptance of change. Accepting a new life, a new identity. Accepting that things will never be the same.

Bucky went through so many changes over the years. He learned to adapt. He really did!
So, there you have it. My very personal, very possibly insane, Bucky Barnes playlist. What do you think?
Did any of these songs resonate with you? Or do you think I’m completely off my rocker? Let me know!
