Season Two Of Only Murders In The Building

Okay, let's talk Only Murders in the Building, Season Two. Everyone seems to adore it. But… am I the only one who thinks it's a tad overrated?
The Case of the Slightly-Less-Charming Sequel
Don't get me wrong! I enjoyed it. The first season was pure magic. It's hard to recreate that initial spark, right?
Maybe it's the mystery itself. The Bunny Folger case just didn't grab me like the Tim Kono one. I missed that tight, focused narrative.
Must Read
New Characters, Mixed Results
Season Two introduced some new faces. Amy Schumer playing herself? Funny, but did it really add anything to the story? I'm not so sure.
And what about Alice Banks? I wanted to love her. But her character felt a bit… underdeveloped, maybe? Her arc just didn't quite land for me.
I did appreciate seeing more of Uma Heller, though. Her dry wit is always a highlight. More Uma, please!

The Humor Still Hits (Mostly)
The humor in Only Murders is usually spot on. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez have incredible chemistry. They still delivered plenty of laughs.
However, sometimes the jokes felt… forced. Like they were trying too hard to recapture the Season One magic. That doesn't always work.
Remember the secret passages? Hilarious! But some of the other comedic elements felt a bit clunky. Just my opinion, though!

Is It Just Me?
I feel like I'm standing alone on this one. Everyone's praising Season Two. Am I missing something?
Maybe my expectations were too high. The first season set the bar incredibly high. It's tough to live up to that.
Perhaps the plot became too convoluted? Too many red herrings, not enough satisfying answers? I don't know, I'm just spitballing here.

A Few Redeeming Qualities
Of course, Season Two wasn't all bad. The performances were still fantastic. The production design was gorgeous. The Arconia is always a treat.
And the finale did have some genuinely surprising moments. I didn't see that reveal coming! That's what I love about this show!
Plus, any excuse to spend time with Charles, Oliver, and Mabel is a good one. Their dynamic is pure gold. They carry the show, really.

Final Verdict: Good, But Not Great
So, overall, Season Two of Only Murders in the Building was… good. Not great. Just good. Maybe even a little...average.
It had its moments, but it didn't quite reach the heights of the first season. Sorry, not sorry!
I'm still excited for Season Three. I'm hoping they can recapture some of that original magic. Fingers crossed!
Maybe it’s just me, but I thought Season Two just wasn’t as clever or as engaging. Hopefully, Season Three will bring back the charm.
Anyone else feel the same? Or am I destined to be forever ostracized from the Only Murders fandom? Let me know!
