Season 3 Of What We Do In The Shadows

Okay, let's talk What We Do In The Shadows Season 3. Specifically, let's talk about how I think it's...kinda underrated? Maybe I'm alone here. Maybe I'm destined to wander the earth, forever singing its praises.
Season 1 and 2 were comedy gold, no doubt. We got to know the vampires, their quirks, and their long-suffering familiar, Guillermo. They set the stage perfectly, right?
The Reign of Nadja and Nandor
But Season 3! We see Nadja and Nandor take over the Vampiric Council. This meant bureaucratic mayhem, vampire karaoke, and a whole lot of hilariously bad decisions.
Must Read
Let's be honest, their leadership was a disaster. A beautiful, hilarious disaster. Nandor's attempts at modernizing vampire life? Chef's kiss.
Nandor's Identity Crisis (and Gym Obsession)
Speaking of Nandor, his existential crisis was a highlight. He started working out! And dating! He was all about finding his true love, with mixed results.
Who can forget the parade of potential brides (and grooms)? The Djinn? The sheer awkwardness of it all? Peak comedy, I say.
And let's not forget his desperate attempts to impress his descendants. Paying for ancestry tests for every single vampire. Oh Nandor!

Nadja's Nightclub Dreams
Nadja's dream of opening a vampire nightclub? Amazing. The drama! The terrible music! The questionable clientele!
It was chaotic and perfectly in character. A testament to the ridiculousness that this show masters so well.
Let's not forget her doll version dating Laszlo. The whole Nadja Doll storyline was absolutely absurd.
Guillermo's Ascendance
And then there's Guillermo. Finally, he's starting to embrace his vampire-hunting skills. He's no longer just the put-upon familiar.

His relationship with Nandor is so nuanced. It is so frustrating, but he is also loyal. It’s beautiful.
He's protecting the vampires, even when they're awful to him. Talk about dedication.
Season 3 really gave him more agency, more to do than just cleaning up vampire messes. He became a powerhouse!
The Colin Robinson of it All
Colin Robinson... well, he's always been a strange one. The energy vampire we all know and...tolerate.

His transformation in Season 3 was... unexpected, to say the least. Baby Colin? I laughed until I cried.
It's hard to explain without spoiling it, but let's just say it involved a lot of growing up (and then shrinking back down).
Who would have thought Colin Robinson would be the emotional core of an episode? Definitely not me!
The Unsung Hero?
Maybe Season 3 wasn't as flashy as others. But it really solidified the characters and their relationships.

It's the season where they truly become a dysfunctional family. A family of vampires, but still, a family.
It had heart, even amidst all the gore and silliness.
"Bat!"(I had to).
So, yeah, I think Season 3 deserves more love. What are your thoughts?
Am I the only one who feels this way? Let me know if you are also a Season 3 fan!
