Scooby Doo Where Are You Decoy For A Dognapper

Scooby Doo Where Are You Decoy For A Dognapper

Okay, let's be honest. We all love Scooby Doo. But does anyone else think the "decoy" plan is... kind of ridiculous?

Think about it. The gang shows up, Fred hatches a plan. And it almost always involves someone being bait.

Usually it's Scooby and Shaggy. Which, I mean, tracks. They're the easiest to scare.

The "Brilliant" Strategy

The basic idea is simple: lure the monster (or, let's be real, the disgruntled groundskeeper) into a trap.

But the trap relies on the monster wanting to catch Scooby Doo! A Great Dane. Why?

Are dognappers that common in the Scooby Doo universe? Is there a black market for talking dogs?

My Unpopular Opinion

I think I have a theory. The villains aren't after Scooby Doo. They're after something else.

They just use the pretense of wanting Scooby to justify their elaborate schemes.

Hear me out. Think of all the abandoned amusement parks, haunted mansions, and creepy castles they visit.

These places are treasure troves of... stuff! Old artifacts, hidden blueprints, maybe even gold doubloons!

The Real Target

The "monster" is just trying to scare people away. Scooby Doo and the gang are interfering.

Therefore, they need to make it look like they're after something believable. Enter: The "Dognapping" Ruse.

It's genius, really. Who would suspect a guy in a ghost costume of wanting to steal a valuable painting if he's seemingly focused on a dog?

And Scooby? He's just the convenient patsy. The fluffy, four-legged distraction.

Evidence Mounts!

Consider the traps. Often unnecessarily complicated. Think of all the pulleys, levers and nets.

Do you really need that much effort to catch a dog? I don't think so.

These traps are built to secure something bigger. Something more valuable than a canine companion.

And what about the disguises? Why such elaborate monster costumes?

Again, misdirection. A terrifying phantom gets more attention than a guy quietly moving crates in the shadows.

Case Closed (Maybe?)

So next time you're watching Scooby Doo Where Are You, think about it.

Is the villain really after Scooby Doo? Or are they just using him as a scapegoat?

Maybe, just maybe, the gang isn't solving monster mysteries. They're accidentally uncovering elaborate heists!

Just a thought. Feel free to disagree. But I think my theory is airtight. Mostly.

Besides, would anyone actually want to adopt Scooby Doo? He's a lot of work!

All that running, those Scooby Snacks... talk about a high-maintenance pet!

I still love Scooby though! Zoinks!
