Scooby Doo goes Medieval! Was it a blast, or just...blah?

Okay, let's talk about Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob. You know, the one where Scooby pulls Excalibur? It came out in 2021.

Honestly, did anyone else think it was...kinda weird? Maybe even a little too much?

The gang goes to England. Classic Scooby-Doo setup. They get tangled up in a story about King Arthur.

Suddenly, Scooby is the chosen one! He pulls the sword from the stone. What is happening?

Look, I love Scooby. He's a scaredy-cat who eats everything. But King Arthur material? I'm not so sure.

Let's be fair. There were some genuinely funny moments. Shaggy's usual antics never get old.

And the animation was pretty good. The medieval settings looked great.

Plus, who doesn't love a good dragon? Even if it's a cartoon dragon trying to be scary.

Here's where I might lose some of you. I think it was just...fine. Not terrible, not amazing. Just…okay.

It felt like they were trying too hard. Too many mystical elements and not enough classic monster chases. I wanted a simple guy in mask!

Maybe I'm just a Scooby-Doo purist. Give me a haunted mansion and a fake ghost any day.

This is a question that crossed my mind. Was this the moment Scooby-Doo went too far? Were the storylines too crazy?

Some fans loved the change of pace. Others missed the old formula. The debate rages on!

I'm leaning towards the "too far" side. I still enjoyed it somewhat.

The whole Excalibur thing felt a bit forced. Scooby pulling the sword? It was funny, sure. But also…a bit much.

It was like they wanted to add some magic to the series. Make it more epic. But Scooby-Doo isn't supposed to be epic!

It is suppossed to be about a talking dog, his pal Shaggy and other friends solving ghost mysteries!

Speaking of too much, Velma, the brain of the group, almost loses her mind with the idea of magic. It's part of her character of course.

She’s constantly trying to debunk everything. That's why we love her!

Seeing her struggle with the genuine magic was entertaining. But did it fit the Scooby vibe? I still do not think so.

The villain reveal was...predictable. No real surprise there. Classic Scooby-Doo.

It's always someone you suspect early on. It is what it is. Is there a formula change?

But did it make the movie less enjoyable? Probably not. I did enjoy the movie.

Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob is a fun movie. It's a nice distraction.

But it's not one I'll watch over and over. Give me Zombie Island any day!
