Saint Seiya The Hades Chapter Season 1

Okay, Let's Talk Hades Chapter: Sanctuary...Honestly?
So, the Hades Chapter: Sanctuary. We all remember it, right? The big comeback! The feels! The... questionable animation choices at times?
I'm just gonna say it: I think it's…overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's Saint Seiya! Of course, it's epic. But some things bug me.
The Gold Saints...Acting Kinda Weird?
Let’s address the elephant in the room. Those resurrected Gold Saints? Their motivation felt…off. Betraying Athena for Hades? Really?
Must Read
I get the whole "test of loyalty" thing. But still! It felt like a convoluted excuse for a bunch of dramatic fights.
And don't even get me started on Shion. He was cool, sure, but the whole plan felt overly complicated. Couldn't he have just, you know, explained things earlier?
The Pacing: Snail's Pace to Hyperspeed
The pacing was a rollercoaster. Some episodes dragged on forever. Then suddenly, BAM! Major plot point resolved in five minutes.

Remember the agonizing wait for the Athena Exclamation? Followed by… well, the resolution of it was kinda quick, wasn't it?
I feel like they could have trimmed some of the monologuing. We get it, guys! You're fighting for justice and stuff!
Seiya, Our Hero, Needs a Nap
Seiya, bless his heart, spends half the season getting his butt kicked. And I know, that's his thing. But seriously, give the guy a break!

He shows up, yells a bit, takes a beating. Then repeats. It felt like he was just going through the motions sometimes.
The other Bronze Saints felt sidelined too. Hyoga got to do a cool thing or two. Shun cried, as usual. Shiryu had that moment with Shura. And Ikki...showed up eventually.
The Animation: A Mixed Bag
Okay, the animation had its moments. Some scenes were breathtaking. The Gold Saints' techniques looked amazing.

But then there were other moments... awkward angles, weird facial expressions. It's like they blew the budget on certain scenes and then went "eh, good enough" on the rest.
And let's be real, some of the character designs felt a bit dated even then. Especially the hair. So much hairspray!
Why I Still Kinda Love It
Despite all my complaining, I still enjoy Hades Chapter: Sanctuary. It’s Saint Seiya! Nostalgia is a powerful drug.

Plus, the music is fantastic. The voice acting (in Japanese, at least) is top-notch. And some of the fights are genuinely epic.
And the emotional moments still hit hard. Even if the plot makes my head hurt sometimes.
"Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe I just wanted more epicness."
Ultimately, Hades Chapter: Sanctuary is flawed. It's not the masterpiece everyone makes it out to be, in my humble opinion.
But it's still Saint Seiya. And that's enough to keep me coming back for more. Even if Seiya needs a serious vacation after all that.
