Ryou Bakura Yugioh Dark Side Of Dimensions

Okay, Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, let's talk. Specifically, let's talk about Ryou Bakura. And even MORE specifically, about his appearance in Dark Side of Dimensions. I have some thoughts. Potentially controversial thoughts.
Hear me out, okay? I'm not saying Bakura isn't cool. He IS cool. But did he really need to be in the movie?
The Shadow Realm Redux?
Dark Side of Dimensions was already packed! We had Kaiba's obsession with Atem. We had the new villain, Aigami. It was a lot! Was Bakura really crucial to the plot?
Must Read
Honestly, I think the movie could have focused more on Kaiba's tech. Or maybe even explored Yugi's life after the Pharaoh left. Just a thought!
An Unpopular Opinion: Less is More
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate seeing familiar faces. Nostalgia is powerful! But sometimes, too much nostalgia can actually hurt a story.
Bakura's appearance felt a bit...forced? Like the writers said, "We gotta get everyone in!" It's like that Thanksgiving dinner where your aunt insists on making a dish nobody asked for.

It's... there. You eat it. But secretly you're wondering if the meal wouldn't have been better without it.
The Real Villain: Overcrowding!
Dark Side of Dimensions is a fun movie. I'm not denying that! It's visually stunning, and the duels are epic.
But so much was going on. We had dimension hopping. Millennium Item shenanigans. A new, dimension-bending monster card.

And Bakura was just…there, being the edgy, kinda- possessed guy we all know and love. But did he push the story forward? Hmmm…
Ryou, Ryou, Wherefore Art Thou Really Necessary Ryou?
Look, I get it. Bakura is important to Yugi's story. He's a classic antagonist. He brings the darkness!
But maybe, just maybe, his role in Dark Side of Dimensions could have been smaller. Or even cut entirely.

Would the movie have suffered? I honestly don't think so. Aigami was a strong enough villain on his own.
"The heart wants what the heart wants… unless the heart wants too many characters in one movie."
Was it just fan service?
Okay, let's be real. Could Bakura's inclusion have been purely fan service? I'm leaning that way!
Studios know what we want! And what we think we want. Throw in a popular character, get the fans hyped. Easy!

But sometimes, giving the fans everything they want isn't the best approach. Story-telling needs room to breathe!
Final Thoughts (and a plea for less Bakura?)
So, yeah. That's my potentially unpopular opinion. Ryou Bakura in Dark Side of Dimensions? Kinda unnecessary.
He didn't ruin the movie, by any means. But I think it could have been even better without him cluttering the plot.
What do you think? Am I crazy? Or did anyone else feel like Bakura's appearance was more of a cameo than a crucial plot point? Let me know!
