Rurouni Kenshin The Legend Ends Full Movie

Okay, let's talk Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends. We all love Kenshin, right? The reluctant hero, the cool sword skills, the whole 'battousai' thing...it's iconic.
My Hot Take (Brace Yourselves)
But, I have a confession. A potentially unpopular opinion about the final movie.
Is it just me, or is it a little bit... much?
Must Read
The Epic Showdown... Or Is It?
The fight with Shishio? Amazing. Visually stunning. But long. Like, really long.
Don't get me wrong. Takeru Satoh is incredible. He sells every scream, every strike, every moment of inner turmoil perfectly.
But sometimes I felt like I was watching a beautifully choreographed (and incredibly painful-looking) dance marathon.
Anyone else start checking their watch? Just me? Okay.

The Romance Factor (Or Lack Thereof?)
And what about Kaoru? She's there, of course. Being supportive. Getting worried.
But sometimes it feels like she's just… waiting for Kenshin to finish up his epic battles so they can finally go get ramen.
I just wanted a bit more depth, you know? A little more spark.
Their connection felt a little…underwhelming considering everything they've been through.
The Flashbacks: Helpful or Hindrance?
The flashbacks! We get it. Kenshin has a dark past. We saw the first two movies!

Did we really need another ten minutes of him looking tortured while covered in blood?
They're important for context, sure. But I felt like some of them slowed the momentum down.
The Villain: A Little Too Much?
Shishio is terrifying. Truly. A bandaged-up, maniacal force of nature.
But his motivations felt a little… stock bad guy?
World domination. Chaos. Destruction. We've seen it before.

I was hoping for a little more nuance. Maybe a sliver of understanding.
The Verdict (Don't Hate Me!)
Look, I'm not saying The Legend Ends is bad. Far from it!
The action is incredible. The acting is superb. The cinematography is gorgeous.
It's just... maybe a tad overblown.
Maybe it tries to cram too much into one film. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Ultimately, it's a satisfying conclusion to a fantastic series. But I wouldn't rank it as my absolute favorite.
Don't get me wrong, the final battle is epic, Kenshin's emotional journey is compelling. But, is it a flawless masterpiece?
This samurai fan thinks maybe not.
So, who's with me? Am I the only one who feels this way? Or are there other closet Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends skeptics out there?
Let's discuss! (But please, be gentle with my fragile, probably wrong, opinion.)
