Rupaul's Drag Race Season 12 Episode 8 Watch

Okay, let’s talk RuPaul's Drag Race Season 12, Episode 8. Remember that one? The "Droop" episode? Yeah, that's the one.
Girl, that episode was... something.
The Ball...ish
First, that ball challenge! It was all about creating looks from random materials. Think: construction site chic meets alien queen.
Must Read
Some queens slayed, others... well, let's just say they tried. Bless their hearts.
The Category is...
The categories were definitely a choice. "Banquettte Couture," "Construction Site Drag," and "Executive Realness" kept the queens on their toes. And some on their butts trying to walk.
Did anyone else think some of the "banquette couture" looked a little...deflated? Just me? Okay.

I will say this, the construction looks were pretty darn cool. Seeing queens turn caution tape into high fashion is always impressive.
Sherry Pie of It All
Of course, we can't forget the ahem elephant in the room. This was the season with Sherry Pie.
Yeah. We all know what happened. Moving on, right?
The Lip Sync Smackdown
Then came the dreaded lip sync. It was a battle for survival. It was to "Starships" by Nicki Minaj.

Honestly, I'm not sure the song did anyone any favors. Nicki is hard to impersonate, right? Who can pull that off flawlessly?
The lip sync was... energetic. Let's go with that. Both queens gave it their all. Even if it was a little messy.
My Unpopular Opinion
Okay, here’s my super controversial take. I wasn't that impressed by the winner that week. I feel some other looks were way more creative.

Don't get me wrong, they did a great job. But for me, another queen brought something extra special. A kind of undefinable magic.
Maybe it's because I am basic, but I liked other looks more. Is that a crime?
Looking Back
Even with the drama, Season 12 had its moments. It gave us some amazing queens. And some iconic lip syncs (for better or worse!).
It was also a season filled with challenges. Some production problems, some societal problems.

But hey, isn't that what makes RuPaul's Drag Race so addictive? The drama! The fashion! The shady reads! We eat it up!
Overall, that "Droop" episode was a wild ride. A perfectly imperfect slice of Drag Race history. One that will be talked about for years.
And that's my two cents. Now, who wants to argue about it? I'm ready to defend my unpopular opinions!
Let the (friendly) battles begin!
