Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 1 Cast

Okay, let’s talk about All Stars 1. Remember that season? The one everyone pretends doesn’t exist?
It’s like that awkward family photo you hide in the attic. Except instead of an attic, it's tucked away in the deep corners of Paramount+.
The Teams: A Recipe for Disaster?
The twist? They had to compete in teams. Seems fun, right?
Must Read
Except, imagine being stuck with someone whose drag aesthetic is, shall we say, different. It's like being forced to partner with someone who thinks Crocs are high fashion.
Remember Chad Michaels and Shannel? Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum! One’s pageant perfection. The other? Well, she's Shannel. That's it, that's the sentence.
Team Shantay, You Stay...Or Do You?
Let's be honest, some teams were just...odd. Nina Flowers and Latrice Royale felt like a mismatch.
Both are amazing queens! But together? It was like trying to blend oil and water, or glitter and...actually, glitter goes with everything.

Then there was Raven and Jujubee. A match made in shady heaven.
They were entertaining, for sure. But did they really work as a team? Debatable.
My (Slightly Unpopular) Opinions
Okay, confession time. I didn’t hate All Stars 1. Shhh! Don't tell anyone.
Yes, the team thing was weird. Yes, some challenges were questionable. But there were still some gems.

Manila Luzon and Latrice Royale together? Hilarious! Their chemistry was undeniable.
And even though it was a mess, it was an entertaining mess. Like a drag queen version of a train wreck you can't look away from.
The Judging…Oh, the Judging!
The judging was…unique. Remember how they eliminated teams, not individuals? Bonkers!
Imagine killing it one week. But your teammate bombs. You're both out. It’s the Hunger Games, but with wigs and contour.

Speaking of eliminations, Pandora Boxx deserved better! She was paired with Mimi Imfurst and unfairly sent home early.
This is my unpopular opinion. The team format unfairly put her at a disadvantage.
Would I Watch It Again?
Probably. Mostly for the cringe factor and the nostalgia.
All Stars 1 might not be the best season. But it's definitely memorable.

It also taught us a valuable lesson. Sometimes, two divas are not better than one. Especially if they have very different personalities.
Plus, it paved the way for better All Stars seasons. We can thank it for learning what not to do.
So, let's raise a glass (of water, because hydration is important, kids) to All Stars 1. We salute you, for all your weirdness.
And remember, even the worst drag race season is still better than most other things on TV.
Even the one where they had to do a talent show and sing about chicken. Never forget that one.
