Okay, let's talk All Stars 5, episode one. Remember that season? It feels like a lifetime ago in drag race years!

A Grand Return (or Was It?)

First impressions are everything, right? Seeing the queens walk back into the workroom was exciting. But did anyone else think the entrance looks felt...safe?

Like, they all looked stunning, don't get me wrong. But where was the unexpected? Where was the "WTF" moment we crave?

The Reading Challenge: Shady Shenanigans

The reading challenge is always a highlight. The library is open, honey! And some queens definitely checked out some brutal reads.

I gotta be honest, I thought a few readings were a bit...meh. Like they held back. Afraid of ruffling feathers, maybe?

But Shea Couleé? She came to slay. Pure comedic gold.

Talent Show Extravaganza (or Not So Much)

The talent show is where queens either shine or crash and burn. Some really delivered. Others...well...

I'm just gonna say it: I wasn't blown away. Maybe my expectations were too high for an All Stars season?

Miz Cracker's act was funny, sure. But did it deserve the win? Unpopular opinion: I'm not convinced.

Alexis Mateo: The Lip Sync Assassin

Alexis Mateo lip syncing? Always a joy to watch! She brought the energy, the passion, the theatrics.

That being said, the song choice... It wasn't exactly the most exciting. It lacked that "wow" factor.

Did she win? Yes. Was I living? Absolutely! But still, something felt missing. It was very enjoyable but it does not meet the hype.

The First Elimination: A Shocking Choice?

India Ferrah was sent home. Was it justified? Hmmm...

Her performance in the talent show wasn't great, I agree. But was it the worst? Maybe not.

I felt like she had more to offer. I would prefer she was given more time to redeem herself. I was little bit shocked.

The edit definitely painted her in a certain light. We all know how Drag Race edits can be! The producers have all the power.

Overall Thoughts (and More Unpopular Opinions)

Episode one of All Stars 5 was...okay. It wasn't the most groundbreaking premiere.

Maybe I'm being too harsh. But I expect more from All Stars! These queens are the best of the best, right?

The season ultimately delivered some great moments. But the first episode felt a bit underwhelming, am I the only one thinking that?

Maybe I am. Maybe I should just shut my mouth and enjoy the show. Nah! Where's the fun in that?

Bring on the drama, the challenges, and the lip syncs! And maybe, just maybe, All Stars 5 will surprise me yet.
