Robotics Notes Elite & Dash Double Pack

Okay, let's talk robots. And not the kind that steal your job (yet!). I'm talking about the kind in games. Specifically, the Robotics;Notes Elite & Dash Double Pack.

Is it just me, or...?

Don't get me wrong. Visual novels are great. I love a good story. But sometimes, I feel like I'm just… reading. A lot. Like, encyclopedia-level reading.

Anyone else feel like they could write a thesis on fictional Japanese high school clubs after playing one of these games? Maybe it's just me. Am I alone here?

And look, the story in Robotics;Notes is interesting. Giant robots! Conspiracy! Saving the world! All the good stuff. But my attention span rivals a goldfish sometimes. So, it gets tough.

The characters. Oh, the characters!

Okay, unpopular opinion time. Some of these characters are… intense. They're quirky. They're definitely anime. Sometimes, I feel like I need a decoder ring to understand their motivations.

And the main character, Kaito Yashio? He's… dedicated to his games. Maybe a little too dedicated. Seriously, dude, look up from your phone once in a while!

I'm not saying they're bad characters. Just… a lot. Like a whole bakery full of pastries. Sweet, but maybe I only wanted a cookie.

Elite? Dash? More Like...

The Elite part, I get. It’s a slightly spruced-up version of the original. Fine. Good. But Dash? It adds more to the story, sure. But it also adds more reading!

I feel like I'm in a reading marathon. Is there an energy drink for my eyes? I'm pretty sure my eyeballs are starting to cramp.

Maybe they should've called it Robotics;Notes: More Words!. It would have been more accurate. Just saying.

The Robot in Robotics;Notes

The giant robot Gunvarrel is a big part of the story. But I'll say this, giant robots need action. The robots were awesome! But there was too much talking in between.

Where were all the robot battles? I wanted robot versus robot action. Instead, I got a lot of exposition.

They are cool, but still.

But Here's the Thing...

Despite my slightly sarcastic tone, I don’t hate Robotics;Notes. It's a unique experience. It's got heart. It's just… dense.

And hey, maybe I'm the problem! Maybe I just need to train my attention span. Maybe I need to become a reading cyborg.

So, if you're looking for a deep, thought-provoking visual novel with a side of giant robots and lots (and I mean lots) of text, give Robotics;Notes Elite & Dash Double Pack a try.

Just maybe, invest in some eye drops first. You've been warned!

Or, you know, just watch the anime. That's an option too. Don't tell anyone I said that.
