Rascal Does Not Dream Of Petite Devil

Okay, let's talk Rascal Does Not Dream of Petite Devil. You know, that arc in the Rascal universe. The one with Tomoe Koga going through… stuff.
Don’t get me wrong, I like Tomoe. She's cute, she's funny, she's got that whole time-looping problem going on. But, and this might be unpopular... I kinda think her arc is a bit… much?
Time Loops and Teenage Angst
Time loops are cool, right? Groundhog Day, Edge of Tomorrow, all that jazz. But Rascal Does Not Dream of Petite Devil? It felt like Groundhog Day but with extra drama and fewer laughs. (Sorry, not sorry.)
Must Read
Tomoe keeps reliving the same day, trying to avoid hurting someone's feelings. Which, admirable, I guess? But also, exhausting to watch!
Look, I get teenage angst. I lived it. We all did. But the constant rewinding? It made me want to fast forward. Anybody else feel this way?
Mai-san Saves the Day (Again)
Honestly, the best part of this whole arc was Mai-san. Always there, the voice of reason, the ultimate girlfriend goals. Basically, the entire backbone for Sakuta.

She swoops in with her wisdom and her bunny ears. Solves everything, as always. We stan a supportive queen! (Just kidding... kind of.)
Maybe I'm just biased. Mai-san's my favourite. But let's be real, without her, Sakuta would be lost in a time-looping void of existential dread. Much like I was while watching it. 😉
The Unpopular Opinion Zone
Here’s where it gets controversial. I think Rascal Does Not Dream of Petite Devil is the weakest arc. There, I said it. Feel free to @ me. I will not apologize.

Every other arc feels like it has higher stakes and more interesting characters. Even the one with Nodoka Toyohama's body swap was more engaging. And she's Mai-san's little sister! That's saying something.
It just didn't grab me the way the others did. Maybe the endless time loops got repetitive. Or maybe I just wasn't invested in Tomoe's problems. Who knows?
It's Not Bad, Just… Not Great
Don't get me wrong, it's not bad. It's still Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. It has those trademark quirky characters and supernatural shenanigans.

Plus, the animation is beautiful. The voice acting is top-notch. All the elements are there. It just didn't click for me.
Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I need to rewatch it. Or maybe I'm just destined to be on the wrong side of anime opinions. Who am I to judge?
Final Thoughts (and a plea for forgiveness)
So, yeah. Rascal Does Not Dream of Petite Devil? A solid “meh” from me. Please don't hate me!

But hey, that’s just my opinion. Maybe you loved it. Maybe you think I'm completely wrong. And that's totally okay!
Different strokes for different folks, right?
Ultimately, we all agree that Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai is a masterpiece. Even if one arc is...slightly less of a masterpiece than the others.
And at least, it gave us more Mai-san screen time, which is always a win! Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
