Princess Connect Re Dive Episode 1 Eng Sub

Okay, hear me out. I have a slightly unpopular opinion about Princess Connect! Re: Dive Episode 1 with English subtitles.
It's not bad. But is it the greatest anime opening ever? Mmm, maybe not?
First Impressions, Am I Right?
Let's talk about that first episode. It throws you right into the thick of things, doesn't it?
Must Read
We've got Yuuki, a guy with amnesia. Then there's Pecorine, who's just... enthusiastically hungry. And don't forget Kokkoro, the adorable guide.
I mean, the animation is gorgeous. Everything is bright and colorful. It's like a visual sugar rush!
Subtitles: Lifesavers or Spoilers?
Now, about those English subtitles. Absolutely essential, right? Unless you're fluent in Japanese, you're kinda lost.
But, sometimes, I feel like I'm too reliant on them. I end up reading instead of fully enjoying the visuals.

Anyone else feel this way? Maybe I'm just easily distracted by shiny things and tasty food.
Pecorine: Energy Drink in Human Form
Speaking of tasty food, let's give it up for Pecorine. Seriously, her appetite is legendary.
She literally eats everything! Is there anything that Pecorine doesn't find delicious?
I kind of admire her dedication. Food is life, am I right?

The Amnesia Trope
Okay, let's be real. Amnesia is a very common trope. Yuuki being the amnesiac protagonist. It seems a bit generic.
I'm not saying it's bad, it's just... predictable. Hopefully, they'll do something interesting with it later on.
I do wonder about Yuuki and what his purpose is though.
Kokkoro: The Best Girl (Maybe?)
Kokkoro is adorable, and I think most people agree. She's a loyal, responsible, and takes care of Yuuki.
Who wouldn't want Kokkoro as a guide? She's practically a walking encyclopedia.

Is she secretly plotting something devious? Probably not, but you never know. (Okay, probably do know.)
My (Slightly Controversial) Opinion
Okay, so here's the thing. Episode 1 is good. Solid. Sets the stage for what's to come.
But for me, some other anime openings have a bit more... "oomph." Maybe a bit more emotional impact or a more unique hook.
But I still watch it. The story is interesting! I just have an unpopular opinion, I guess?

Would I Recommend It?
Absolutely! Princess Connect! Re: Dive is worth watching. Especially if you're looking for something lighthearted and fun.
Just be prepared for a whole lot of eating, adorable characters, and amnesia.
And, of course, make sure you have those English subtitles ready!
"Oishi!" - Pecorine
