Power Book Iii: Raising Kanan Season 1 Episode 5

Okay, let's talk Raising Kanan, specifically Season 1 Episode 5. Remember that one? Things were starting to get spicy.
Unpopular opinion time: I kind of liked Scrappy's storyline. Hear me out!
Scrappy's Hustle: More Than Meets the Eye?
Everyone dismisses him. He’s seen as this annoying, clumsy hanger-on.
Must Read
But Scrappy's persistence? Low-key admirable. He’s hustling in his own… unique way.
Maybe it's just me, but I found his attempts hilarious. He may have annoyed Kanan, but it amused me.
Raq's Master Plan (Or Lack Thereof?)
Raq, oh Raq. Always playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers.
Her plans are intricate, complex, and sometimes… downright confusing. Did anyone really understand her whole Breeze situation?

Honestly, half the time I was watching, I was thinking, "Just tell everyone what's going on!" But where's the drama in that?
And let's be real, the 80s fashion was a character in itself. Those tracksuits! Those hairstyles!
Marvin: The Unsung Comic Relief?
Okay, Marvin is a mess. But a hilarious mess.
His anger management issues are… concerning. But his reactions to things are pure gold.

Remember his attempts at parenting? Tragic, but also, kinda funny. He’s trying, okay?!
Jukebox: Finding Her Voice (Literally and Figuratively)
I loved Jukebox's story. She's clearly searching for her place in the world.
She's battling so much internally. Family, identity, and her emerging musical talent.
Her singing scenes gave me chills. Also, she has a strong and silent presence even when she is not singing.
Detective Howard: Good Cop, Bad Cop, Complicated Cop
Detective Howard is a puzzle. Is he good? Is he bad?

His interactions with Raq are fascinating. There's something going on there, right?
The tension between them is thick enough to cut with a knife. I want to know what his end game is.
Lou-Lou: The Quiet One with a Secret?
Lou-Lou seems like the quietest of the three siblings.
But I think he's got the most going on underneath the surface. He’s the thinker of the group.

I can't put my finger on it, but I sense some big moves coming from him later in the series. Don't underestimate him.
And can we appreciate the soundtrack of this show? The 80s vibes are on point!
In conclusion, Episode 5 of Raising Kanan Season 1 was a solid setup. It kept me hooked, even with some questionable character choices.
Now, bring on the drama! Give me more 80s fashion. And please, someone get Marvin some anger management classes!
What were your favorite (or least favorite) parts of the episode? Let me know! I'm ready for a debate.
