Okay, confession time. I have a somewhat...unconventional approach to paying my cell phone bill.

Seriously, who has time to remember another password? I swear, I have more logins than I have socks. And that's saying something. My sock drawer is a disaster.

It's always the same thing. Click "forgot password." Answer security questions that are hilariously outdated. What WAS my favorite pet's middle name? I haven't thought about Mr. Fluffernutter in decades!

Then, you get to reset it! But wait. It needs to be at least 12 characters. Must include a capital letter. A symbol. A blood sacrifice. Just kidding... mostly.

The Alternative

Here's where my scandalous secret comes in. I just… pay it without logging in. Yep. I said it.

Most providers offer a "quick pay" or "guest pay" option. You punch in your phone number, maybe your account number (which, let’s be honest, is probably saved in my notes app anyway), and boom. Bill paid.

No password. No security questions. Just sweet, sweet bill-paying freedom.

The Horror, The Horror! (Not Really)

I can practically hear the gasps. The pearl-clutching. The cries of "But the security!" Look, I get it. We're all supposed to be cybersecurity experts these days.

But realistically? Is someone really going to steal my cell phone bill payment information? I mean, I hope not. I'm not exactly rolling in dough.

And let's be honest, I’m probably sharing more personal information every time I take another Buzzfeed quiz. "What kind of toast are you?" The internet knows more about me than my own mother.

Am I Crazy? (Maybe a Little)

I realize this might not be the most secure way to handle things. But convenience, my friends, is a powerful drug.

And honestly, isn't our time worth something? I'd rather spend those precious minutes NOT wrestling with a password reset. I could be watching cat videos. Or finally folding that mountain of laundry.

So, yes, I'm advocating for the lazy, slightly risky, but incredibly satisfying approach to cell phone bill payment.

Plus, using the guest pay option usually lets me avoid those pesky "special offers" they try to sneak in when you're logged in. No, Verizon, I do NOT need to upgrade my plan. I'm perfectly happy with my current level of internet addiction.
