Paul O'grady For The Love Of Dogs New Series 2022
Right, let's talk about dogs. Specifically, that lovely telly show, Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs. And even more specifically, the 2022 series.
A National Treasure and a Kennel Full of Cuteness
Everyone loves Paul O'Grady, right? He's funny, he's got a heart of gold, and he genuinely loves those woofers. It’s practically illegal not to shed a tear while watching him bond with abandoned pups at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
But, whisper it… do you ever feel just a teensy bit manipulated? Like, BAM! instant empathy, then BAM! a cute dog doing something adorable? I feel a warmth inside, every time!
Must Read
The Formula: It Works, But…
The show's formula is tried and tested. Sad dog story, followed by Paul O'Grady's quick wit, ending with a heartwarming adoption. You know the drill.
It works, alright! We all watch it. We all cry. But sometimes, I wonder if we're all just being expertly played by the TV wizards. Are we being used?
And this is where I might have an unpopular opinion. Are we too nice to dogs now?

Doggy Overload? A Controversial Thought
Hear me out! I adore dogs. I truly do. But has "dog obsession" gone a bit overboard? Do dogs rule our lives too much?
Think about it. We’re buying them organic dog food that costs more than my dinner. We dress them in little outfits. We throw birthday parties for them! Even the media is dog-obsessed!
I saw a dog wearing a better coat than mine the other day. I feel sad, should I? Or should I get a dog?

It's All About the Story
Okay, back to For the Love of Dogs. The 2022 series was, of course, brilliant. Each episode pulls at the heartstrings with amazing rescues.
The stories were more compelling than ever. You saw dogs that were mistreated, misunderstood, and needed love. Of course we were on board.
Seeing the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home put in so much effort warms my heart. I am glad there is a place like that!

The Unsung Heroes
While Paul O'Grady is amazing, let's not forget the real heroes. The vets, the nurses, the kennel staff... they are all amazing.
They work tirelessly to care for these animals. They clean up the messes, they administer the medications, and they provide comfort to frightened pups.
If the show is doing anything, it is raising awareness about those who need help. So, maybe I am wrong about being manipulated. Or not.

So, What's the Verdict?
Is Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs a good show? Absolutely. Is it heartwarming? Of course. Is it maybe, just maybe, contributing to a slight societal doggy obsession? Perhaps!
Am I still going to watch every episode? Without a doubt. I will grab the tissues, cuddle my own (less-organically-fed) pet, and enjoy the ride.
Because, honestly, who can resist a cute dog? Especially when Paul O'Grady is there to introduce us to them. It is good TV!
