Our Kind Of People Season 1 Episode 6

Okay, let's talk Our Kind of People, specifically Episode 6. I know, I know, we're a few seasons away from a continuation, but it's fun to still think about the delicious drama.
I'm just going to say it: I secretly loved the mess. Was it a perfect show? Nope. Was it ridiculously watchable? Absolutely!
The Tea Was Spilling (and scalding!)
Episode 6, "For Whom the Jingle Bell Tolls," was classic soap opera goodness. Secrets? Check. Betrayals? Check. Christmas chaos? Double check!
Must Read
Angela nearly blows up Teddy's spot. He better watch out. Meanwhile, Olivia deals with the consequences of her actions.
Leah is a mess and Eve is plotting! I live for it!
My Unpopular Opinion: I Didn't Hate Lauren
Okay, hear me out. Lauren Dupont was...complicated. She was definitely a villain, no doubt about that.

But let's be honest, she was kind of fascinating. She played the game. She schemed. She wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted.
Also, the actress Rhyon Nicole Brown did a great job portraying the villainess. You kind of hate her but also respect her ambition. That's good acting!
Teddy Franklin: King of the Mess?
Teddy, oh Teddy. What are we going to do with you? He was a walking, talking disaster zone.
Every time he opened his mouth, you just knew some new drama was about to erupt. I think he was the glue of the show, whether good or bad.

And also, he was so charismatic, and you ended up rooting for him. Which made it worse!
The Eve & Leah Dynamic: A Love-Hate Relationship
Eve and Leah? That was a relationship built on shifting sands. You are never sure what kind of relationship they are in.
They were sisters, rivals, confidantes, and enemies, all rolled into one. Talk about a complicated family dynamic!

Sometimes, it felt like they were playing chess with each other's lives. It was exhausting to watch, but I couldn't look away!
The Real Star: Oak Bluffs Itself
Let's be real. Oak Bluffs was practically a character in itself. The setting was beautiful and the show does a great job capturing the beautiful scenery.
The show does a great job making the setting feel real. From the beach parties to the fancy galas, it all felt so vibrant and alive.
It's like Gossip Girl meets a Tyler Perry movie. In a good way.

What Could Have Been...
It's a shame Our Kind of People didn't get more seasons. I would have loved to see where they could have taken these characters.
There were so many loose ends and unanswered questions. Like, what was really going on with Teddy’s business?
Will Angela ever truly find happiness? Will the secrets ever stop? We will never know.
So, yeah, I still think about Our Kind of People. And I secretly hope it gets a revival someday. Or at least a juicy podcast rewatch!
