Only Murders In The Building Jan Is The Killer

Okay, folks, let's talk Only Murders In The Building. Specifically, let's talk about Jan. And why I think she was totally, obviously, the killer.
Hear Me Out!
I know, I know. It's a popular show with tons of twists. Everyone has their own theories. But I'm planting my flag here: Jan was guilty from day one.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the journey. But rewatching it, all the signs were there! Think about it.
Must Read
The Obvious Clues (Maybe?)
First off, the handkerchief! Jan conveniently "found" it. It was such a weird detail. A detail that felt planted to mislead us.
And let's be real, Jan's whole persona was a bit off. The sad, lonely bassoonist? Maybe too on the nose.
She played the part so well. Perhaps too well.
Then there's the timing. Remember all the noise complaints? Someone conveniently making noise during the investigation.

Who plays the bassoon at all hours? It's disruptive to the building, if you ask me. This is one of the biggest red flags.
Emotional Manipulation 101
Let's not forget Mabel, Oliver and Charles' little group. It was amateur hour, detective style.
Jan just waltzed right in! Then she plays the sympathy card with Charles. Classic move.
She has a way of making you like her even when you know you shouldn't. That's why she got close to them.
And the "attack"! She stabbed herself. Come on! That's soap opera level villainy.

But it worked, didn't it? Charles, blinded by affection, totally bought it. We almost did, too.
But the clues were there, my friends! Remember the poison? The rushed conversations? She just seemed too involved!
Why Jan?
Okay, so maybe I'm biased. But let's consider the motive. Attention! Jan craved it.
Being Charles' girlfriend gave her access. It gave her an excuse to be around the investigation.
She even acted like she knew things and didn't. A good attempt if I have to say.

It's a bit theatrical, sure. But think about it: a killer who wants to be admired. It's a story as old as time.
She seemed to be bored and needed to find something to do. This is my theory.
Let's just be real, a lot of people could be the murderer. But no one caught my attention quite like Jan.
Unpopular Opinion? Maybe.
Look, I know not everyone agrees. Maybe I'm just seeing what I want to see. That's the point of the show.
That's what makes Only Murders in the Building so good. The fact that everyone has their own suspect.

But when all is said and done, I'm sticking with my gut. Jan was the killer all along.
So, what do you think? Am I crazy? Or did I crack the case? Let me know!
I'm ready to defend my Jan-did-it theory to the death!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch the show. Just to be sure. And to look for even more proof that I'm right.
Wish me luck!
