One Punch Man Volume 19 20 21 Back Cover

Okay, let's talk One Punch Man. Specifically, the back covers of volumes 19, 20, and 21. You know, the ones most people probably just glance at?
My Hot Take (Brace Yourselves!)
I might be alone here, but I think these back covers are secretly hilarious. They're like little snapshots of pure, unadulterated silliness.
Don't get me wrong, the main art is incredible. Yusuke Murata is a god. But there's something about the back covers that just tickles me.
Must Read
Volume 19: Sleeveless Saitama Strikes Again!
This one features Saitama, of course. He's rocking his usual blank stare and that signature sleeveless jumpsuit.
He's got a grocery bag. And the bag has, like, one green onion sticking out. Peak Saitama characterization right there.
Is anyone else getting a "just finished his grocery run before fighting a monster" vibe? I definitely am.

Volume 20: Genos, My Man, is Suffering.
Genos gets his turn here. He looks...stressed. And also slightly charred.
Is it just me, or does he look like he's been through the wringer? Which, let's be honest, he probably has.
You know, the life of a cyborg disciple is filled with explosions and maintenance. The real question is, what exploded this time?
Volume 21: King's Intimidation Aura (Maybe?)
Okay, now we're talking. Volume 21 gives us King. The strongest man on Earth... allegedly.

He's surrounded by hearts! Hearts! This guy, who everyone thinks is an unstoppable badass, is enveloped in hearts!
Is this meant to be intimidating? I don't know. It just makes me giggle. The contrast is just too much!
Why I Love These Back Covers
They're subtle. They're understated. They're a tiny comedic breather after pages of intense action.

It's like Murata is winking at the audience. A little "psst, don't take this too seriously" moment.
The humor is so dry. I think it's because of this dry humor that I find myself gravitating towards these back covers.
Unpopular Opinion Time
I honestly think these back covers are underrated treasures. They deserve more love!
The main art is amazing, of course. I'm not saying otherwise! But these little glimpses into the everyday (or not-so-everyday) lives of our heroes are gold.

I will say, I look forward to seeing the back covers of the next volume drops. It's something I look forward to when buying the manga.
Am I the Only One?
So, am I crazy? Does anyone else appreciate the subtle humor of these One Punch Man back covers?
Let me know! Maybe we can start a back cover appreciation society.
I'll bring the green onions. (Just kidding... maybe.)
