One Day At A Time Season 4 Episode 6

Okay, folks, let's talk One Day at a Time. Specifically, Season 4, Episode 6: "Supermoon." We all love the Alvarez family, right?
But, and this is a big BUT, I have some thoughts. Maybe unpopular thoughts.
The "Supermoon" Scuffle
The episode revolves around a, you guessed it, supermoon! Lydia, our favorite abuela, gets everyone excited about its supposed romantic powers.
Must Read
Of course, things don't go as planned. Because, well, that's life, isn't it?
Elena's Relationship Drama (Mic Drop?)
Elena and her girlfriend, Syd, face a little friction. Syd wants to go to a protest, and Elena isn't so sure.
I'll be honest, sometimes their relationship feels a little… manufactured? I said it!
Don’t get me wrong, representation is important. But I feel like sometimes the show focuses too much on "issue" and not enough on just letting them be a normal couple. Are there any normal couples?

Penelope's Dating Woes (Again!)
Meanwhile, Penelope is navigating the dating world. It's always a rollercoaster for her, right?
She’s trying to be all cool and independent. It's relatable, even if it sometimes makes me cringe. Let's be honest, we've all been there.
Dating after a certain age is just… a whole different beast. Anyone else agree?
Lydia's Meddling (Shocker!)
Of course, Lydia is in the thick of it, trying to orchestrate everyone's love lives. Classic Lydia!

She's got the best intentions, but sometimes she needs to chill out. Just a little.
Can we all agree that Lydia is secretly a master manipulator? I mean, she gets away with everything!
My Unpopular Opinion
Okay, here it is. Deep breath. I think this episode is… a little overrated.
Don't get me wrong, it's still funny and heartwarming. It just feels a bit predictable to me.

We’ve seen the same relationship struggles before. Elena and Syd arguing about activism. Penelope trying to find love. Lydia interfering.
It's like a greatest hits album, but with slightly different remixes. Know what I mean?
Maybe I'm just jaded. Or maybe I'm expecting too much from a sitcom.
Still Love the Alvarez Family, Though
Despite my little rant, I still adore One Day at a Time.

The characters are relatable. The humor is on point.
And the show tackles important issues with grace and heart. Even when I think the "issues" get in the way, it still feels real.
So, I'll keep watching. Even if I secretly roll my eyes sometimes. It's a guilty pleasure, okay?
Anyone else feel the same way? Or am I completely alone on this supermoon-sized island of unpopular opinions?
