Oda Nobuna No Yabou Volume 22 Summary

Nobuna's Ambition: Volume 22 - Did Anything Really Happen?
Okay, folks, let's talk about Oda Nobuna no Yabou Volume 22. We all love the series. The cute girls, the historical twists… it’s great, right?
But be honest. Did you feel like you aged five years waiting for something, anything, truly earth-shattering to occur? I know I did.
The Calm Before the Storm (Maybe?)
The volume seems to be setting the stage. Setting the stage for... what exactly? More political maneuvering? Another character getting conveniently lovestruck with Yoshiharu? We've seen it all before.
Must Read
Oda Nobuna is, as always, scheming. She's brilliant, yes, but sometimes I wish she'd just do something already! My grandma moves faster when bingo night is on.
We get the usual dose of internal conflicts within the Oda clan. Loyalty is questioned. Alliances are tested. Someone probably spills tea. Standard samurai drama.
Yoshiharu: Still Confused, Still Popular
Ah, Yoshiharu, our time-traveling protagonist. Still hopelessly out of his depth, still somehow managing to attract the attention of every woman within a 50-mile radius.

Seriously, what’s his secret? Is it the anachronistic slang? The sheer dumb luck? I need to know. For scientific purposes, of course.
He spends most of the volume trying to figure out… well, everything. His place in history. His feelings for Nobuna. Which flavor of ramen to order for lunch. You know, the big questions.
New Characters, Familiar Tropes
We're introduced to some new faces. They’re promising at first. Intrigues us, almost.

But then they fall into predictable patterns. The stoic warrior. The cunning strategist. The overly-enthusiastic subordinate. Rinse and repeat.
Don’t get me wrong, the character designs are great! But I wish they had more depth beyond their initial introduction.
The Unpopular Opinion Corner
Okay, here it is. My controversial take. Volume 22 felt… like filler. Yes, I said it!

It felt like padding between major story arcs. A way to keep the series going without actually progressing the plot in any significant way.
Don't get me wrong. I understand the need for world-building. But at this point, shouldn’t we be moving towards some sort of climax? The "Ambition" part of the title seems to be taking a nap.
“Perhaps I'm just impatient. Maybe Volume 23 will blow my socks off. But until then, I remain… cautiously optimistic.”
I'm hoping for more action, more intrigue, and less of Yoshiharu accidentally walking in on someone in the bath. Though, I know what sells. Sigh.

Final Thoughts (and a Plea)
So, Volume 22. Not terrible, but not amazing. It's like that slice of plain white bread you eat when you're out of everything else. It fills a hole, but it's not exactly satisfying.
Let's hope the next volume kicks things up a notch. Nobuna deserves better. We deserve better!
Please, Kageharu, give us something truly epic. Before we all forget what the story is even about. And before Yoshiharu accidentally starts another harem.
What did you think about Volume 22? Am I being too harsh? Or did you also feel like you were waiting for a bus that never arrived? Let me know!
