Nura Rise Of The Yokai Clan Characters

Let's talk Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan. Great anime, right? But some characters... well, opinions are strong.
Rikuo Nura: Is He Really All That?
Okay, hear me out. Rikuo. The main guy. Half-human, quarter-yokai... quarter, quarter, etc. You get it.
Is he as amazing as everyone says? I mean, he's fine. Perfectly pleasant.
Must Read
But sometimes, I find him a bit… bland? Unpopular opinion, I know. But I said it!
Daytime Rikuo: Sweet or Sleep-Inducing?
Daytime Rikuo is the definition of "nice guy." Glasses, friendly, always helping others.
He's basically the human equivalent of a Golden Retriever puppy. Adorable, sure, but does he have depth?
I’m not so sure. Maybe a little too perfect.

Nighttime Rikuo: The Charisma Boost
Nighttime Rikuo, on the other hand, is a total boss. Cool, collected, commands respect.
It's like he goes from Clark Kent to Superman after sunset. A serious upgrade in charisma.
But is this simply relying on the Yokai form to gain confidence? Perhaps it is a crutch.
Yuki Onna: More Than Just a Pretty Face?
Ah, Yuki Onna. Beautiful, loyal, and literally cold. She's a fan favorite, no doubt.
But does her dedication to Rikuo sometimes overshadow her own character?

I feel like she deserves more independent storylines! She has so much potential.
Aotabo: The Loyal (and Slightly Dense) One
Aotabo. He is big, he is strong, and he is fiercely loyal. But also, bless his heart, a bit slow on the uptake.
He's like the lovable, overgrown puppy of the Nura Clan. You can't help but like him.
His heart is always in the right place, even if his brain isn't always there with it.
Kubinashi: The Strategist... or a Nervous Wreck?
Kubinashi is supposed to be the brains of the operation. Calculating, strategic, always thinking ahead.

But honestly, sometimes he just seems perpetually stressed. Like he's constantly worrying about everything falling apart.
A little bit relatable, maybe? But still, lighten up, Kubinashi! You're giving me anxiety just watching you.
Nurarihyon: The Original Gangster
Now, Nurarihyon, Rikuo’s grandfather, is a legend. He’s the original leader of the Nura Clan. A true OG.
He's powerful, cunning, and has a sense of humor. He also can be very mischievous.
He’s basically the cool grandpa everyone wishes they had. Respect.

The Hyakki Yakko: A Motley Crew of Mayhem
The rest of the Hyakki Yakko are a wild bunch. Every kind of Yokai under the sun is found withing the clan.
From Kappa with his turtle shell to Mokumokuren and his many eyes, they are all entertaining. They are all unique.
They all bring something to the table (or the battlefield) and they are a huge part of what makes the series so much fun.
So, there you have it. My (possibly controversial) thoughts on the characters of Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan.
What do you think? Am I completely off base? Let the debate begin!
