Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Gameplay

Storm 4: Still Button Mashing Bliss? (Unpopular Opinion Alert!)
Okay, let's be real. We all love Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. But sometimes, I feel like I'm playing a really, really pretty button masher. Am I the only one?
Don't get me wrong! The visuals are insane. The ultimate jutsu cutscenes? Pure anime gold!
But when it comes down to actual gameplay... are we really strategizing?
Must Read
The Cycle of Chakra and Chaos
It usually goes like this: Charge chakra. Spam jutsu. Run away. Repeat.
Maybe throw in a substitution jutsu if I’m feeling fancy. Or if I accidentally press the wrong button. Either way, victory!
Is anyone else's fighting strategy also "hope for the best"? I'm not ashamed to admit mine is. It's gotten me pretty far, actually.
Support Characters: Bless Their Souls (and My Combos)
Support characters are basically walking, talking combo extenders. We love them for it.

They pop in, do their thing, and vanish. Like magical, ninjutsu-wielding delivery services.
I usually pick the coolest-looking ones, not the most strategically sound. Sorry, Sakura. Looking cool is half the battle.
The Great Escape (Substitution Jutsu Shenanigans)
The substitution jutsu. The ultimate "get out of jail free" card.
Getting wrecked? Poof! Log time. Back to square one.

I swear, some matches are just a never-ending cycle of vanishing logs and frustrated sighs from my opponent. Sorry, not sorry.
Story Mode: So Much Hype, So Little Brainpower Needed
The story mode is amazing, reliving those epic moments from the anime.
But again... button mashing to victory. Even against Madara. Whoops, spoiler alert? (Probably not).
The emotional weight of the story... brilliantly countered by my relentless square button attacks.

Character Roster: Too Many Ninjas, Too Little Skill?
The character roster is HUGE! So many ninjas to choose from.
But let's be honest, most of us have our mains. The ones we know we can mash with and still win.
For me, it's usually Naruto (obviously). Something about spamming Rasengans just feels right.
Is it a Flaw? Or Part of the Fun?
Okay, so maybe Storm 4 isn't the deepest fighting game ever made.

But is that a bad thing? I don't think so! It's fun! It's flashy!
It's pure, unadulterated anime action. Sometimes, that's all you need. Embrace the button mashing! You know you want to.
Maybe I'm just bad at fighting games. But hey, at least I look good losing (thanks to those amazing graphics!).
What do you think? Am I alone in my button-mashing confession? Or is Storm 4 secretly everyone's guilty pleasure?
Let me know in the comments! And may your Rasengans always hit true!
